- What first hand information? Do you mean a soldier with a gun who might ask a civilian whether he likes what America is doing for them? What do you think that civilian is going to say?

Of course NOW a bunch of stuff has happened to them, a lot of it probably fabricated. This is never going to end, and around and around we go...

tccmartin,

If this was a black town with a black majority and all the things were the same but in reverse, you''d better believe that most of these anti-Jena posters would be in support of these young men. I think they are not in support because they are afraid that they might appear to be condoning the ability of blacks to beat up white people...meaning them.

Once again, WHAT AM I BLAMING MY RACE FOR?

You know what, conversation over.

To everyone else, the facts remain - they are trying to lockup underage children for most of their life. For a school fight. No one was killed, no one was murdered. Was the fight alright? No. None of the kids should have been fighting, but those who have been following this know what lead up to the fight. Were the others charged - NO! They received misdemeanor charges.

I agree completely, people can put a lot of stuff on here to make it suit them, no one really knows what happened except for the people it happened too.

There was a lot more to the Iraq story than the media was aware of to broadcast. Also, as happened in Desert Storm, the media was fed false information to protect operations.

The only truth is first hand information. Not rumors and propoganda.

That right there is plain illegal. The reason for "picking" a jury is to obtain people with unbias opinions, no previous knowledge of the case and no relationship with either side.

That''s plain crazy. What I can''t understand is how can people sit back and not pay attention to this information.

I would not read any paper coming out of Jena, it''s going to be one sided. The towns people are saying they don''t want to be portrayed as being racist, but yesterday during the march other african americans who live in this town were telling stories about their own racist events that have taken place.

Don''t call me stupid, you just can''t make sense of anything because of your race. You think white people should all just bow down because of what happened so long ago and sorry thats not going to happened. You wouldn''t blame your race because you think they can''t do anything wrong. I know white people can I never said they couldn''t do wrong because they can but so can yours. They BOTH need to be punished equally I have said that all along.

On the internet you can always find "facts" that agree with your point of view. Cool what you can do with a delete and insert button.

These things are best left to a jury. An UNBIASED jury.

Hwy71So,

I know this is not the right place to discuss this, but why should we have gone sooner...because we didn''t like someone..someone who we created? So, if a country doesn''t like us, they have a right to invade the U.S. for no reason? What we do to others, can be done to us. We should never forget this.

And, the same can be said about the Republicans. If the Republicans had been more worried out terrorist attacks than interns, the focus during this period might have been in the correct place.

By the way, Iraq never invaded the U.S., was not responsible for 9/11 and never threatened us. There were zero reasons to invade that country. And, if our fight was against fundamentalist islam, why invade the most secular (Christian friendly) country in the Middle East and give it to a group that want to turn it into the Islamic Republic of Iraq?

I''m sorry, you don''t seem like a very smart person. You''re telling me if I have on red or blue and wear a matching bandana that the first thing you think of is gang. Your mind is warped. I watch tv also, and I don''t assume when I see someone with those colors on that they are in a gang.

What am I blaming my race for? For being aggressively charged by the DA. If the DA is going to charge them as adults, attempted murder, premeditated murder, so should the white guys. They''ve been fighting for weeks. A building on the school grounds was burned down. This didn''t just start yesterday.

Your on the internet, obtain the facts. They are readily available.

Well, I think we would''ve (should''ve) went a whole lot sooner. Bill just didn''t have any pressure, except for that pertaining to interns.

tccmartin,

The fact that the jury was made up of a friend of the alleged victim and a friend of the D.A. makes me wonder what kind of banana republic justice system we are working with here. That should have been illegal.

Also, the local newspaper was under fire for blatantly biased reporting.

Doesn''t matter if there are gangs around or not it is still the gangs fault, you just don''t want to blame your own race. I''m not racist, I have plenty of black friends, I just have my own views, and yes I do think black people "cry wolf" a lot thats how I feel. I do know that racism still exist and unfortunately it always will. If I see a bandanna red or blue I automatically think gangs, because I have known people in both, and what they show on the news, and in schools.

The court came to them, when the district attorney came to the school to threaten the african american students. They didn''t have a chance to go to court. The district attorney came to the school with the mayor to confront the kids. That''s when he told him to basically step back or else. His comment "I can take your life away with the stroke of my pen."

The kids did not take the law into their own hands. This has been a civil battle that''s been going on for the past year (almost). So what are you talking about? Get your facts straight. These kids have simply been defending themselves. What are you saying they should lean on a legal system that''s obviously not unbias? What world are you living in? Because it''s not this one.

When have you ever heard of the district attorney going to a school to confront children - never! This is the first time I have ever heard of such a thing. This is outrage!

jkflvsjdf002,

Maybe this is not your fault any your assumptions are being made on poor reporting. If you only got your information from the mainstream media, you''d think
1. whites hung up noose
2. blacks attacked white person because whites hung up noose.

When in actuality the story is so much more complicated. One of the Jena 6 was a victim himself three days before the incident. He was attacked by a gang of white guys and had a bottle smashed over his head. None of the white guys in this case went to jail.

I don''t say two wrongs make a right. But, our justice system should be such that two wrongs make the same sentence.
