Comments on: Is O.J. Getting A Fair Shake?
Cops Say Yes; Defense Attorney And Some Critics Aren't So Sure
- I don''t think he''s getting any kind of unfair treatment - although a defense attorney can be relied upon, and in fact is paid to, cast a taint on even the most generous treatment. He is a flight risk - he''s run once before. He didn''t say, give me my property or I''ll call the cops - he burst in with men with guns, made threats, and stole it - taking other stuff that clearly wasn''t his. Any other person who did likewise would be treated the same.
There''s no proof that what he took was his either - all of his memoribilia was awarded to his victims families - so how could any of it be his? - Reply to this comment
- In terms of the alleged armed robbery, it is too early to tell. I learned long ago that factual reality and media reports often differ greatly. Even for scum, it is only fair to keep an open mind. That is what justice is about. Whether it is Gitmo, or OJ, or YOU, the presumption of innocence is an important aspect of our judicial system [though the Shrub of course does not want to apply it to Gitmo; God forbid, the Star Chamber has already decided].
In terms of the earlier murder, between incompetent prosecutors [sorry guys] and cops who planted evidence [e.g., brother Mark the F], a case that should have been easy to prove went down the proverbial drain. The civil case, though not driven by the same evidentiary standard, showed that OJ was more likely than not guilty.
Just remember. You hate lawyers until it is your gluteus maximus that is on the line. Then, oh my, oh my, how the world does turn. - Reply to this comment

- Misspp: No joke Misspp. And since you''re claiming both cases were the same, did Robert Blake chop up his victim? No. Did Robert Blake have fresh cuts on his hands? No. Frankly I think Blake is guilty as sin, but the fact patterns aren''t even similar in these two cases. Again, you''re trying to place the Al Sharpton view of society on a double homicide that was about murder, not race, and a public outcry that was about arrogance, not race.

- misspp: I didn''t claim to be an expert. You did.
I''d rather not read more about murders. And btw, I''m a lawyer. There''s nothing you or the OJ case or the Robert Blake case can teach me. - Reply to this comment

read up on the robert blake case before trying to be an expert. - Reply to this comment
- Robert Blake wasn''t found guilty of wrongful death by a civil jury, ordered to pay millions in restitution, then refuse to do so, then flaunt yourself in public signing autographs for money, then writing a book about "how I did it if I did it."
Nor did Robert Blake drive a Bronco around crying for hours after the murders.
That''s why there''s not a similar uproar over Robert Blake.
You''re comparing apples and oranges through the simple dichotomous reasoning that everything is black and white. - Reply to this comment

- Was it a set up? How?
If you think someone has stolen property that belongs to you, what is the rational and legal way to handle it?
1. Call the police and make a report.
2. Get four of your thug friends with guns and break into the person''s room and order them to not leave and have your thug friends hold a gun to their head while you holler ''bang bang''. - Reply to this comment
- marcodele:
then i guess you don''t believe in the criminal justice system since OJ was found "not guilty". the difference between his case & Robert Blake''s is 2 victims vs 1 victim. all other aspects are the same. where''s the continuing uproar over the Robert Blake case? - Reply to this comment
- Misspp: My answer to that would be yes. It was a no-brainer double homicide and the murderer was obviousl. Not everything is about race.
