Actually erasmus6, my message was more like:

"Good people need to feel more responsible for their own safety and the safety of their loved ones."

This can include getting a gun, but it doesn''t have to and obviously just having a gun likely would not have helped much in this case. I was simply giving some examples of various things people can choose to do to make your home more secure. I will also bet that there were a lot of signs that the criminal was not a very good person.

I wish they would please return to the old format as they have made this more unfriendy to us users who are vistual impaired..or go to a larger size font.It harder to use now..It is this site.
I have thot about this issue..I TRUST 2 MEN..my Dad and and my male room mate of 24 yrs. My mum,chose her 2rd husband over her children. I was 5. Her husband would not raise an other man''s children.He told her to dump me on the town. She did.

The only message that GunOwnerDan was REALLY trying to deliver was to "get a GUN". That is the solution for everything, even if it doesn''t apply. He just added the other stuff, like locking the doors to make it look like he isn''t obsessed with the guns, like everyone knows he is.

These folks who prey upon children, once convicted should be put in general population instead of special units. They have a way with dealing with people who prey upon children and the elderly in prison, these folks don''t last long. Your heart goes out to the mother.
