Six White Captors Accused Of Torturing Black Woman In W.Va.
- whatithink,
I am extremely tired of seeing any kind of crime turned into a black and white issue, actually. But most of all I am tired of reading people saying things like "things like this make me ashamed to be white" or "I apologize in behalf of whites for what these people did". Why do they apologize? Did they have anything to do with it?
I am also tired of people using these anomalies of society to bring back the usual *** on how evil white people are. Oh really? If all whites were like those animals in the story, there wouldn''t be a single black left alive. Sorry but I am only going to take responsibility for the wrong I do personally, not for wrongs done in the past and by people I never even met.
So I guess I am really tired of people riding the emotional wave to blow things out of proportion, turning one despicable act of violence into some kind of racial warfare issue. Enough of this *** already. - Reply to this comment
- they reap stupid, they should be told that the American people sees them as stupid. and that is nicely put.

- Ya know, people like Brittany Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Terry Schiavo, Anna Nicole are the reasons why the east hate Americans. If they would go away, then we would be an honorable nation to other nations, but these *** and drunks and pot heads along with hollywood are the real terrorists. So, I think you are right in your statement, whatithink.
A six year old black Hispanic boy was sodomized and a forced to perform o-r-a-l *** on a 30 year old white man and his father while the mother masturbated. They then killed him and dumped him in a bin. The news media only had time to report about Anna Nicole.
If you want to compare why the news media spends so much time on Brittany Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Terry Schiavo, Anna Nicole, was there a conspiracy to kill Diana, was there a conspiracy to kill JFK, etc., etc. I''''d agree with you. But, trying to belittle this poor woman''''s plight because you don''''t think another story got the same amount of coverage is RIDICULOUS. This story is already being buried. When the wrestler killed his family, Larry King, Fox News, etc. spent so much time trying to understand it. When the crazy guy confessed to kill JonBenet it was everywhere.
So, give it a rest.

- tmliddle,
You might be new to these news sites. If you are I can understand that you might not have seen what whites say about all black people when a story involves a black suspect. Some of it is so vile and evil that it is hard to imagine that these thoughts are sitting in someone''''s mind. I can assure you that if this had been in reverse, some of the comments made by certain individuals (darkmeat, for example) would be completely different.

You SO missed the point and had a great opportunity to help end the idiotic negativity that tie up the message board!
It''s sad to see that the cross sections people choose, have to be by race or gender. I see comments that the real idiots of the world, you know, black, white or otherwise, have posted about their utter hatred for another person''s race or gender or just negative comments putting someone down.
I actually think only in terms of THESE commenter''s. Not by race or gender. I choose to separate by those with comments that are hateful, dumb and ignorant. It''s THESE people that make their race/gender look bad.
I call them CLOGGER''S because they clog up the board with that talk and not the actual story. - Reply to this comment
- Anyone believe this it the first time they did something like this?

- I don''t even see why these six have bond set at 100,000. If the court records shows that they have 108 criminal records for crimes since 1991, why bail. Go figure, because I can''t. Again, there is white justice and black justice. Now, you figure it out!

- sy2502,
I hope you get tired when you see white people turning any crime that involves a black person into a black issue! I find the level of sensitivity about turning things into a race issue in this case funny, considering the horrible things that have been said about all black people on other topics where nobody seems to have the same sensitivity.
I also find it weird that people say we should not talk about race in this case when at least one of the suspects said they did it because she was black! - Reply to this comment
- okay so the girl was black and the "pigs" was white - this time !!! Make it a racial thing instead of how horriable the crime is. I hope they all pay for this the way they treated the young lady invoved. It could have been black people doing it to a white person - it is the crime not the color!!!!!!!

- Where is the outrage America?

If you read the posts first, you would see there is plenty of outrage going around about this story. If you have to ask it means you didn''t bother reading.
But frankly I am getting really tired of people using these stories to bash white people. When a woman is tortured and killed by a man, we don''t start bashing all men, call them animals, because of what an individual did. And yet we are ready to bash the entire white race because of what these sub-humans did? I suppose it is much more convenient than remembering the billions of white people who DON''T do this kind of atrocities? I for one am not going to apologize for my race because of what somebody else did. - Reply to this comment
- #3...Earlier this year, Alisha Burton and George Messer were indicted by a grand jury after an August 2006 incident where they assaulted & robbed a Logan County woman at her home.
According to court records, the two broke into the woman''s home, then proceeded to "assault in and about her face and body with their fists" and committed "partial strangulation."
The charges were dismissed in April after prosecutors could not find the victim.
Processing the six suspects in magistrate court for the most recent accusations took from Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
Logan County Magistrate Leonard Codispoti, who arraigned them, said Williams'' captors had planned to take her to East Lynn Lake and kill her. He said Frankie Brewster told him herself.
"Frankie made the statement that they were going to kill her," said Codispoti, a magistrate for 27 years. "She just blurted it out."
He said most of the suspects showed no emotion during their arraignment while one was arrogant and confrontational.
WHY were these people continously let go??? - Reply to this comment
- #2...While Brewster was in jail, Bisha Tomblin was shot & killed by his son, Bobby Brewster, who was 14 then.
The boy was not named then because of his age, but Sheriff Eddie Hunter confirmed today that the boy was Bobby Brewster. It is unknown how much time he served for the crime. The court records are sealed because the crime involved a juvenile.
Bobby Brewster was arrested in 2006 for obstruction & battery of a police officer. He was arrested in March for brandishing a deadly weapon & domestic assault. All those charges were eventually dismissed.
Danny Combs was arrested in 2005 for domestic assault & violation of a protective order. Those charges were dismissed. In August 2006, he was arrested on charges ranging from unlawful malicious wounding to domestic battery.
Karen Burton has a record dating back to 1991 when she was arrested for driving under the influence. During the past 16 years, she has been arrested for various offenses including numerous public intoxication charges, resisting arrest & disorderly conduct charges. - Reply to this comment
- unfortunately this IS about race. And that is more an indictment of the irresponsible media and the pandering to the rediculous "knee-jerk" public! Just read the stories, how they are written, the "headers", and the responses! We eat up this fodder. Shame on them and us.
While what happened to this women it morally reprehensible, and those responsible should be punished to the letter of the law. Let''s keep things in proper perspective; proportedly, a women was kept against her will and assaulted (numerous ways) by some bad people, and they should be punished. End of story.
It''s not like this is the first, or last time someone has done something sinister to someone (for any reason).
Why must the media add gasoline and match to start a fire!? You know why? Because shock and outrage sells. What would have happened if the headlines read "Woman held against her will and assaulted. Suspects caught." No one would have read it and there would have been no "sensational" outrage. This is all conjured up by the media. Bravo CBS, etc, you succeded again. - Reply to this comment
- #1.. It appears these pieces of filth are even worse than we thought.
From the "Charleston (WVA) Daily Mail", the following gives more insight into the type people involved..........
Those accused of torturing Williams have a violent history.
Police arrested Frankie Brewster, 49; her son, 24-year-old Bobby Brewster; Danny Combs, 20, of Harts, George Messer, 27, of Chapmanville; Karen Burton, 46, of Chapmanville; and her daughter, 23-year-old Alisha Burton.
Deputies received an anonymous tip on Saturday, went to the Big Creek home & found Frankie Brewster on the porch. She had just told the deputies she was alone at the home when Williams limped toward the door with her arms held out saying "help me,"
They are being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail.
Police said they were familiar with them from prior crimes.
In July 1994, Frankie Brewster was arrested & charged in the first-degree murder of Polly T. Farrell, the 84-year-old mother of her live-in boyfriend, Bisha Tomblin. Farrell was shot at least four times.
Tomblin was Bobby Brewster''s father. The slaying happened in Big Creek.
Frankie Brewster eventually pleaded guilty to lesser charges of voluntary manslaughter and wanton endangerment with a firearm. She was jailed at the Pruntytown Correctional Center and released on parole in 2000. During the parole hearing, Brewster was described as remorseful, concerned and respectful, according to court records. - Reply to this comment

- I feel sorry for this young lady, regardless of her race. I feel the racist six should get what they deserve! It''s beyond me that anyone would hold someone captive and feed them rat droppings. in a sense, now white people know why blk people really don''t trust and like white people. Oh, by the way. I am white.

Mississippi and West Virginia are always battling it out for the bottom positions in just about every statistic. - Reply to this comment
