Mean is mean and stupid is stupid. And the two don''''t mix well at all.

Actually, meaness combined with stupidity are one of the top reasons for many of the ills and tragedy in the world today. some people just love to spew hatred, criticism and ire--misery indeed loves company.

dont understand what she was doing at the bottem of a canyon in the first place. Why didnt she stay on the road to her car and wait for help? She was lucky considering her lack of common sense.

She may have left to find water. the problem is in true wilderness especialy with inclines and lots of trees, it is impossible to tell which direction on is heading in. Word to the wise, if in a similar situatin, try to leave markers (inedible ones) on trees that can be seen and will stay there--to retrace your steps back.

If you ever read "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson, it is supposed to be a true story of a hike on the Appalachian trail. It is a good read and hilarious book, but at one point, Katz (Bryon''s hiking buddy) gets lost and his description of how/why he could not make it back out are very enlightening. One cannot stay with a car and live for 2 weeks without water.

newster1 - please go into the woods and get lost... we don''t need your kind around.
This is a wonderful story - glad to hear that all are well and recovering.
We need to thank the ravens also because if not for them I don''t believe she would have been found alive. Mother nature works in mysterious ways - for a change we have a good happy ending and a decently reported article.
I wish both a speedy recovery - keep up the good health

Nice story about a modern-day Elijah! (even if the ravens did not actually feed her)

"Police say Anderson disappeared on Aug. 24th while on a bow hunting trip in the Eagle Creek area with her 74-year-old husband, Harold. "

Serves her right for what she was doing to the wildlife out there, too bad the Ravens didn''t have a meal- ultimate payback for the death and destruction she and her HUNTING Hubby caused untold hundreds of animals out there.

god doesnt bless people, the lord doesnt help people, and prayers dont work.

Wonderful news! Always leave for any trip to the woods with the basics for survival, something for a fire--magnesium fire starter and steel wool, dried food, water and some shelter like a tent or tarp--build up brush for a lean-to if you have to. If lost, use your imagination to stay alive--keep candybars in your pockets and hang the fire making tools in a small bag around your neck (take a magnifying glass with you to help build a fire) and a signal mirror. Plan for the worst that can happen and you too can survive.
