Bottom Feeders, to go along with the corrupt, vicious amoral agenda of the GOP this is the type of flim flam artist that they have placed in power.

Remember Bush-Cheney picked and vetted all candidates you could not run with out their and Roves buy in, party discipline they call it.

Wake up you remaining 30 percent this is a perverse corrupt Anti American political sect that has control of your party and hits country. The DOJ should apply RICO in their investigation and eventual indictments of Lewis, Renzi, Stevens, Craig, Vatter, Allen, Ney.

This starts at the very top of the GOP and the RNC and it goes

Doug Lamborn is a lawyer -- an attorney.

When an attorney tells you that "if you are unwilling to do that I will be forced to take other steps", he is NOT threatening to punch you in the nose.

He''s threatening to sue you.

This whole "controversy" is a tempest in a teapot.

There''s nothing here.

the so called "family values" christian Republican party now includes gambling and racketeering as part of their values. As if being queer and liars wasn''''t enough. More than church, god and bible (which they never read), this party seems to represent the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Generalizations really are the mark of someone happy to have eyes looking anywhere but on him/her.

I love it when dumba&& GOP fight with each other, and then some troll come on and posts...

"Dems are corrupt too, why is it only Republicans in the news" blah blah blah, when we all know that Democrats get the same media play, only there ARE LESS OF THJEM so of course there will be MORe Republican in the news.

Even funnier, when they start name-calling like 12-year-old. Dems are commies! et cetera.

Sadly, the humor is lost on those clowns who shield themselves from reality.

Sorry, reality has a liberal bias..live with it

"Iceman_1960 - I am a bit concerned. There is a lot more "scriptural" stuff about vengeance in the bible... a lot more than just that. How do you know he''s referring to Corinthians 6?"

It''s what I surmised. That''s the New Testament passage that discourages lawsuits between believers.

Doug Lamborn happens to be an attorney(*), as well as a Christian.

When attorneys threaten legal action, this is how they talk. ("...if you are unwilling to do that I will be forced to take other steps...")

He''s threatening to sue some folks he felt had defamed him. That''s all.

If he were threatening criminal violence, he wouldn''t have done it in a voicemail, which would be used by police investigators if the couple fell victim to foul play, would he ?

(*) "Lamborn attended the University of Kansas, where he received a bachelor''s degree in journalism and graduated with his Juris Doctor. Lamborn practiced law as an attorney before entering politics."

"And like I said I''d rather resolve this on a Scriptural level but if you are unwilling to do that I will be forced to take other steps..."

Ah, the Jesus card. Rather then deny the charges, he''s going to try and bash them with the Bible, and explain how God thinks it''s ok for Republicans to be greedy corrupt.

What a typical GOP dirtbag.

While the Abramoff murder, gambling and shake-down of Indian tribe cases has been out of the news...Here''s a petty influence peddlar out in
Colorado, trying to get his fair share of the ''take.''

Here is some major league fraud and lying--the Zio-Nazi Bush Regime with its fake pictures of drones to go with its created-out-of-whole-cloth Niger yellow cake lie...

Here is a link to a story on how Representative Kanjorski of Pennsylvania was shown fake pictures of drones in a meeting to sell the war by the Bush Zio-Nazi Regime in order to sell the war to Congress.

If you think the Democrats are going to get your fat-stupid MoveOn, Daily Kos butts out Iraq...here''''s what makes Pelosi smile-- crooked real estate deals, influence-peddling and self-dealing...with one of Henry "the Mass Murderer" Kissinger''''s favorite droppings--Gorbachev...

Little wonder that Pelosi won''t fight for the impeachment of the president that Kissinger advices.

This country is full of cases of "Revenge" from people in power, against people who try to do the right thing.
This couple has done nothing wrong at all. Even if they''re assertions are incorrect. The Rep. Rep. has provided NO information or public record that they are wrong. So that being the case, when a person in power (power corrupts) leaves a private message on your voicemail that you need to meet with him immediately or there will be consequences, thats a Threat. No police officer in the country would interpret that differently. How serious or severe of a threat, well we dont know yet. But it is a threat to the welfare of this couple.

The American people would expect this Legislator to attempt to clear his name properly and legally with little or no contact with this couple. Theres no need to be in contact with them. To tell them they need to ''withdraw'' their letter is a little suspicious and over the top. If they are right, it would be best for him to do as other Legislators have done and return the money asap and claim ignorance of the source. It would be best. But, thats not what he did. I''d say the authorities should step into this and investigate.

Why does the GOP want to create a third world country of corruption?

He is only taking the road of his commander-in- chief. This is exactly the same thing that Bush does only on a smaller scale.

This is too funny!! Fellow travelers of the far right doing nonsensical battle over matters of public policy from an ethereal frame of reference. Shows you what the agenda is for these nut cases. "Scriptural"?? That''s a real word?

If, three decades ago, Orin Hatch and Ted Kennedy hadn''t decided to keep God out of it, what would get done in our nation''s legislature? Absolutely noting (which is almost the case anyway).

So the critical issue for Mr. and Mrs. Bartha is a $1,500 contribution to Lamborn from a source in the gambling industry. As someone here said, "who gives a rat''s a$$"?

CBS, sometimes the stuff you decide to publish as news is actually entertainment.

Neither party seems to be out of line here. The couple are upset on moral grounds that the Rep accepted donations from the legal gambling business. Lamborn left a phone messages where he talks about "consequences" and "other steps".

Big deal, these "other steps" may mean a letter of his own to the editor or perhaps a smear campaign at the couples church. If he meant them illegal harm, I doubt he would have warned them on their answering machine.

I do believe that dealing with Pious Nut Jobs is an occupational hazard brought upon the GOP by the GOP.

Separate Church from State!!!

These politicians want it both ways - lie, cheat, and do any other illegal thing necessary to maintain their political, social and financial status; then invoke the name of the Lord and start quoting the Bible when challenged by a taxpayer.

I can''t believe this idiot left threatening messages on an answering machine! He must think he is made out of teflon!!

Does this mean that if the people who wrote the letter are not willing to handle things as Lamborn would consider "scriptural" then he is going to behave in an un-scriptural way when he handles things? It would seem that "other steps" he refers to might just fall outside the scriptures, but I guess that is okay if you have tried the scriptural way first.

Maybe it''s "scriptural" like in "scriptural money". He wants to blackmail them but doesn''t want cash.

Although it is not unforgivable (Leviticus 6:2-7), lying is a serious sin, worthy of death.

No wonder these people were afraid! Perhaps they felt that Lamborn would come over and stone them to death!

At any rate, his voicemails were just plain weird!

[That doesnt sound like a threat to me, it sounds like a reasonable person ... I say it is a credit to the Representative. ]

"And like I said I''d rather resolve this on a Scriptural level but if you are unwilling to do that I will be forced to take other steps, which I would rather not have to do"

what do you suppose the ''other steps'' were and why doesn''t he just outline them there in the message?

you''re not too bright ... this is a ambiguous statement meant to be that way ... so the recipients of it ''fill in'' the rest (in whatever crazy way it happens to go). and that was intended by your illustrious representative.

another example of the bullying tactics of the republican party.
