A few years ago Bush said he "looked into Russian President Putin''s soul" and liked what he saw.

Over that time Putin has closed all independent TV networks, has placed his people in power at all major companies, surreptitiously supports the murder of journalists critical of his Administration (46 so far), and carries on a dirty war in Chechnya. He has a compliant Duma (Congress) that rubber stamps whatever authoritarian laws he wants to pass. He bullies neighboring Democratic countries. He has recreated the KGB to stifle internal and external dissent and kill opponents.

I can see why Bush feels Putin is his soul mate. Or maybe Bush is simply an idiot.

n the 2003-06 period, 4,947 Puerto Rican men and women enlisted in the Army or Reserves, or approximately 123 people per 100,000 residents, according to Pentagon data. That is below the average contribution of U.S. states, and far below the numbers in states such as Alabama, Kansas, Montana and Oklahoma, each of which enlists more than 200 men and women per 100,000, according to Army data.

"It needed NO hindsight to see..."

Father Knows Best...

"Whose life would be on my hands as the commander-in-chief because I, unilaterally, went beyond the international law, went beyond the stated mission, and said we''re going to show our macho? We''re going into Baghdad. We''re going to be an occupying power - America in an Arab land - with no allies at our side. It would have been disastrous. We don''t gauge the size of our victory by how many innocent kids running away - even though they''re bad guys - that we can slaughter. We''re American soldiers; we don''t do business that way."
- the Elder Bush, in a statement to a reunion of Gulf War veterans, February 28, 1999.

"Only Iraqis can sort out an Iraq Civil War."

I can''t get over the sheer stupidity of this war.

It needed to hindsight to see that sending an army of mostly white, mostly Christian American troops as occupiers of a sizeable country (Iraq is much bigger than Lebanon) in the heart of the Muslim Middle East in this modern age, could only lead to disaster.

Bush''s own father said it would, back in 1998.

"If that''s the case then why did the North fight so hard, strap the country with a war debt that wasn''t paid off for decades, and waste so many Yankees'' lives to keep the South in the Union?"

If the good Iraqis were fighting this hard in their own Civil War, they wouldn''t need 160,000 Americans over there.

Only Iraqis can sort out an Iraq Civil War.

The American Civil War was over in four years. Lincoln employed no large foreign army from Europe or Asia to do the fighting.

In fact Lincoln was horrified at the thought that Great Britain might intercede for the Confederacy.

PR is over ran by poor drug dealers and an uneducated population riddled with STD''''s. When they make the commitment and sacrifice like real citizens, perhaps we will care.

Typical Bushie- smear anyone who proves you are a liar or a moron. Hey deadmeat, no one except Coulter believes your twisted Orwellian "reality" anymore. Another Bush monkey howling out the Fox News talking points like the monkey it is. They love their dictator so much they swallow the Fox cummm like fundamentalist cult kool-aid. Lies are truth. Tyranny is freedom. Dictatorship is democracy. Anyone who defends the Constitution against them is a "liberal" or traitor. The monkey mind is such a simple thing. So easily led by the alpha chimp-in-chief and his propaganda spewing sycophants. Crawl back under your rock moron. You''re not even worth the 8 cents for a 9 mil. ROFLMFAO

%u201CIt was, as one of his colleagues confirmed, almost a happy day for him when famous buildings were destroyed, because at such time he put into his speeches that ecstatic hatred which aroused the fanaticism...%u201D George Bush after 9/11 (oops, I mean - Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Propaganda Minister)

There''s an old saying, "Don''t count your chickens before they hatch." It''s more than a year before the election. I''m sure Hillary Clinton will do something to shoot herself in the foot before then.

"After reading some of these comments I see why Bush was elected twice."

Do you know why Bill Clinton was elected twice ?

You will after November 2008, when his wife begins two terms in the Oval Office.

Why does the name Clinton appeal ?

Let George W. Bush himself tell you:

"During the administration of William Jefferson Clinton, the U.S. enjoyed more peace and economic well being than at any time in its history. He was the first Democratic president since Franklin D. Roosevelt to win a second term. He could point to the lowest unemployment rate in modern times, the lowest inflation in 30 years, the highest home ownership in the country''s history, dropping crime rates in many places, and reduced welfare rolls. He proposed the first balanced budget in decades and achieved a budget surplus. As part of a plan to celebrate the millennium in 2000, Clinton called for a great national initiative to end racial discrimination."

Where did those weird typos come from ?

That''s try that again.

About 17,000 people die through criminal homicide every year in America.

Since 2003, the start of the war, to 2007, that comes to 85,000 people out of 300,000,000.

During the same time, about 4,000 Americans have been killed in Iraq, out of 160,000.

If the U.S. had a criminal homicide rate like that, 7,500,000 people would have been killed in America in the last 4+ years.

That''s seven Million five hundred thousand homicide victims in 4 years.
