Governor's Call For U.S. Withdrawal From Iraq Greeted With Standing Ovation At National Guard Conference
- To avoid global conflicts or end wars, it would be best for the heads of countries involved to fight with each other (boxing, karate, etc.), not their people who are innocent and absolutely have nothing to do with their agenda! This would totally eliminate casualties and economic stability of any country involved.

The elder Bush was also attacked for NOT going into Baghdad during the first Iraq war. Iraqis rose up in revolt against dictator Saddam Hussein and then they were slaughtered by Saddam Hussein''s troops because the Americans didn''t protect them. While American troops were nearby, Saddam''s helicopters attacked and destroyed the Iraqis who had rebelled. - Reply to this comment

Ah, come off it! Everyone knows that those days are over between the White House and the Kremlin. Bush and Putin are practically at each other''s throats. Now the major concern between the two superpowers is the Cold War will start up again. - Reply to this comment

"In fact Lincoln was horrified at the thought that Great Britain might intercede for the Confederacy."
----------
President Lincoln was afraid the British would come to the aid of the South and break the Union blockade on Southern ports and the Mississippi River which cut the Rebels off from needed supplies that Europe could furnish. Because the Union blockade wasn''t broken effectively, America now has corn bread, grits, and other things that the Southerners came up with during the Civil War. - Reply to this comment
- Perhaps if Puerto Ricans enjoyed the same rights as the people of Alabama, Kansas, Montana and Oklahoma, the military recruitments there would pick up.
"Puerto Rico has limited representation in the U.S. Congress in the form of a Resident Commissioner, a nonvoting delegate, and the current Congress had returned the Commissioner''s power to vote in the Committee of the Whole, but not on matters where the vote would represent a decisive participation.
Because no federal elections are held in any of the unincorporated territories, Puerto Rico does not have electors in the U.S. Electoral College."
