Those Who Speak Out Against Corruption In Iraq Reconstruction Say U.S. Gov't Treats Them Like Criminals
- "Americans think their danger is terrorists," said Roberts. "They don''''t understand the terrorists cannot take away habeas corpus, the Bill of Rights, the Constitution. ... The terrorists are not anything like the threat that we face to the Bill of Rights and the Constitution from our own government in the name of fighting terrorism. Americans just aren''''t able to perceive that."

- THe Bush administration''s handling of any conduct that goes against their line is downright Gestapo-esque.
Bush only faces right-wing audiences as a means of providing propaganda that America in general supports him when the video is played and applause is beamed across the country.
Dissenters are kept out by government agents or even worse, arrested for not being a Bush drone.
Whistle-blowers are shown the "if you tell the truth you''ll be sorry" philosophy. In other words, if they refuse to be an accomplice, they''ll be punished severly.
Tens of thousands of documents that the administration is required by law to keep have mysteriously disappeared.
Time and time again courts have ruled this administration''s actions to be illegal.
Undoubtedly, we are witnessing an administration that believes that it''s power is absolute and beyond scrutiny or accountability.
The neocons love to drape themselves in verbiage such as "freedom", "democracy", "liberty", and "patriotism" yet embrace an administration that conducts frontal attacks on all these values in it''s drive to be totalitarian. - Reply to this comment
- Seems to be happening more & more in everyday life. Honesty used to be the best policy but, guess what?! Maybe it''s why we hear some kids being told "not to be a snitch" - even about things that are dire, not just idle gossip. I, for one, thank those with backbone enough to try to do the right thing.

- We elected a Democratic congress to deal with messes like this. A Republican congress never would. Laws protecting whistleblowers are no good unless there are consequences.
Whoever is responsible for prosecuting these folks have to be identified and punished. - Reply to this comment

- Does anyone hear any congressional democrats or presidential nominees complaining or mentioning this? Complicity of the "golden elephants" and the "golden donkeys" .

- The complicit and lazy press will bury this. Bush and his war profiteering cronies will go on r*ping the American tax Payer. Good people who expose these corruptions will continue to feel the boot of the fascist government- illegal incarceration, loss of jobs, threats to friends and family --- FROM THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT. What f''ing democracy? What f''ing liberty. If you believe the rules for you are the same as for the war profiteers then keep voting for the repugs. They laugh at you all the way to the bank. Morons. LMAO

- I was a civil service whistleblower. I was fired with phony charges, and the civil service union showed me the door. Why? Because I reported fraud, waste and abuse at the Naval Shipyard, Norfolk, VA. The commander of the Norfolk Naval base did not do a thing. You see this government only serves itself!
In fact, when Justice Department took an interest in my case; nevertheless, the Norfolk Naval Base attorney challenged the Judge''s authority to hear my case. Needless, to say . . . the Judge found and excuse to dismiss the case. This is how corrupt the system has manafested itself. By the way, this happen before the sieze broken out in Iraq. Yes, I refuse to call it a war. This conflict is the Bushwacker''s little private sieze.
We need a revolution to restore our Constitution and hang the criminals in Washington. - Reply to this comment

You are wrong. You certainly can be a non-believer and be elected to public office in the south. You simply pretend to be pious - TV evangelists have been pulling it off for years! - Reply to this comment
