newster1 - these animals are predators - two of them attacked a woman who with her child in stroller as she walked down the street - one woman physically attacked her and held her so that the man could take the child out of the stoller - two against one - but she did manage to beat off the woman and got lucky again when the guy couldn't undo the straps of the stroller.

The fault doesn't lie with all the parents not doing enough - the fault lies with the predators.

The guy in a nut case, but he hasn't touched anyone. Again, if PARENTS do their job like they are supposed to then there is nothing to worry about.

Yes there is something to worry about. It is people like you that let this evil stay on the street. He is obviously very sick and needs to be permanatly taken care of to keep society safe...especially young girls. Just because he hasn't been caught doesn't mean he hasn't already molested children...they usually molest many before ever getting caught.

That's the real worry here - even if hasn't molested yet, this guy is a walking time bomb. Ever seen the Dateline "To Catch a Predator" series? A lot of these pervs are aware they could get caught and have their lives ruined and they sometimes even mention law enforcement in their 'chats' with supposedly underage kids, but like moths to a flame they just can't resist and end up getting busted. So, although I'm somewhat sympathetic to the thought-crime argument that he can't be arrested for something he hasn't done, this guy has shown clear mental instability and could be confined to a mental institution indefinitely. Who else but a mentally ill man would find a 12 year-old girl sexually attractive? Off to the psych ward I say!

That's not always true. We, as parents, are not with our children 24/7. Children have to go to school and parents have to work. We can talk to, and warn, our children about strangers. If someone wants a child bad enough things happen, whether a parent is with that child or not. We do the best we can and can only hope that our children understand the dangers as well as we do. It's a shame that parents can't be comfortable in sending their children to school without worrying about someone snatching them off of a school ground.

Two months ago McClellan, 45, was basically run out of Washington state when word got out about his Web site, which promotes the acceptance of touching between men and prepubescent girls, reported CBS News correspondent Bianca Solorzano last month.

This guy is an obvious danger to all children in the State of California. Why did they release him?
Posted by diverinnl "

Obvious danger? how so? he takes PICTURES in public places and put up a web site, neither is illegal or a danger. Thought crimes are the new legislative baby is that it? wow, that has a slippery slope bent to it.
He was released because legally ( you remember the LAWS and constitution right?) they have no charge they can hold him on except some BS "tresspassing" misdemenor which is basically a fine like a parking ticket.
What did arresting him accomplish? he was back on the street in 6 hours.
The solution is PARENTS doing their jobs.

He has committed no crime - it is called free speech duh, nazi freaks in idaho, kkk, etc. have it as well....

The restraining order is painfully unconstitutional - he will be found not guilty. It is a complete joke.

"This guy is an obvious danger to all children in the State of California. Why did they release him?"

Because he has committed NO crime, unless you include the constitutionally illegal ban on his being 30 feet near anyone under 18.

Hate to disappoint you, but it is not a crime to gawk at children or take photos of them in public places, nor is it illegal to put up his web site which is archived on archive.org

So when does the TV movie come out? I think Andy Dick(head) would be a good choice for the role.

This guy needs to be put away forever. He does not think he's doing anything wrong! That's what is scary.

Just put him in the general prison population. Things will take care of themselves...

"He was arrested and booked on suspicion of violating a statewide restraining order prohibiting him from coming within 30 feet of any child in California. He was released six hours later, and was scheduled to appear in court Sept. 13."
