- Citizen USA,
You are a pretty pathetic citizen since you have obviously not done your homework to become informed about Bush, Cheny, PNAC and the NeoCon 'new world order'.
I am a proud American Bush-hater. I hate Bush for the same reason that I love my country. I am outraged at seeing America being run into the ground by these NeoCon fascists and the complicit Democrats.
If you like Bush you would have loved Hitler. A man who rallied his country out of a severe depression, who restored patriotism and nationalism, who demonized his enemies, consolidated executive power, invaded foreign nations on a pretext of lies.... sound familiar? - Reply to this comment
- who is bush's base?...those redneck, reborn, christian snakes.
where is bush's base?... deep down in that dark, evil south.
why is bush's base?...die hard rebel confederates that think bush is their last chance for a comeback.
what is bush's base? republican, christian, bible thumping, war making, flag waving, poor, superstitious and uneducated.
well, there you have it, folks!

- I hate to say it but even if we were not in Iraq that bridge still would have collapsed. They still would not have determined that it needed to be replaced. Unless there is a document out there stating that the reason for lack of repairs is a budget concern, then I am afraid you Bush haters out there are simply using this as another excuse to complain about Iraq some more.

If more funding were available for better inspections the failure could have been prevented.
Massive structural failures do not occur, aside from natural disaster influences, without signs beforehand. - Reply to this comment

Don't be such a complete fool. Our military budget is more than ALL OTHER NATIONS COMBINED. Our wealth gap is skyrocketing after more massive tax cuts for the already filthy rich.
I agree with you on one point -- Bush is our President now, but this disgusting waste of money goes back several decades, and it is a bipartisan result of corporate-owned government. The slimy spineless Democrats are complict as well. It was Eisenhower after all who warned us of the unchecked power of the military-industrial-congressional complex.
As Nader says, Washing DC is corporate occupied territory, and the citizens of this country are being crushed by it. - Reply to this comment
- True, the bridge would have still collapsed. The point is, this country (like a used car) needs constant attention. When the money is gushing out to fund bull s.h.i.t., who is going to insure the safety and integrity of the "car"?
New Orleans would still be underwater had the news media not embarrassed Bush and FEMA into action. Their heads were up their ***** and in Iraq.
Bush haters were not born, they were made. And for good reason! - Reply to this comment

ha,ha,ha.
all we get out of the south is bush, war and christian snakes.

- ONE TRILLION DOLLARS for a NEEDLESS HORRIFIC WAR based on deliberate LIES
That's $1,000,000,000 dollars
That's ONE THOUSAND BILLION dollars.
And here we have the fascist idiot making a "tour" just like he did after Katrina. Nice photo op. Bush press sec. already tried to blame the state of Minnesota even though it is a federal highway.
Bush solution will be to "privatize" the highways to Haliburton and Bechtel.
JAIL CHENEY and BUSH, murderous thugs, for LYING us into the War ON Iraq. - Reply to this comment

- The millions and millions of dollars spent on murder in the Mideast could be in this country to repair bridges, feed the homeless, and provide health care for those that cannot afford it. However, Baby Bush and company have their agenda(s). And just like a baby, he will cry if we say "No". So on it goes and the American people can only sit and watch as our country crumbles. Excuse me while I vomit.

- Bush hears but does not listen; looks but does not see. He just stays the course - more money for war and more wars and no money for the health and welfare of People. We have an empire to build. Besides it was the peoples fault. They should not have been driving on the bridge unless they knew it was safe to do so.

- It's not 2 billion per week, is it? It's more like 2 billion per day.
Posted by uradufuss at 08:46 PM : Aug 04, 2007
Our "direct" expenditures are about $100 billion/year in Iraq which breaks down to $2 billion/week.
"Indirect" expendirures roughly equal the "direct" expenditure so, to be more correct, it's closer to $4 billion/week.
I was referring to just the "direct" expenditures. - Reply to this comment
- It's not 2 billion per week, is it? It's more like 2 billion per day. What bothers me is that he (Bush) uses this disaster as a opportunity to take budget-jabs at congress. That's funny, when the people who have suffered from Katrina have still not been given what they were promised. This president thinks that they (congress) should obey each and every request that he makes. Unfortunately, the reason that the people voted these Democrats into congress, in the first place, is to see that that DOES NOT happen.
