SOmething doesn't add up. The husband survived, was beaten with a pipe and a bat and survived. Was thrown, tied, into the cellar but escaped the flames. Most home burglaries that end as this one did, the husband is forced to watch but he was put in the basement. The scuzzes bought an air rifle. They have a history of burglary but not of rape or assault.

httpwwwnews, Your post sounds exactly like mine from yesterday. I'm not trying to criticize the police but I would be interested to know how they responded to the call from the bank. Maybe they didn't think it was that urgent. I realize they would not have known the circumstances but Ms. Petit told the bank her family was being held hostage and she withdrew a large amount of money (which the bank questioned).

Hoots, The police should know the layout of the town and it shouldn't have taken them too much longer to get to the house as it did the killer (who stopped for gas on the way).

The people in that Conn. town should rise up, march on the jail - or even, yes, stop their convoy as it is being taken to some prison - and yes, even at gunpoint tell the cops to release these scumbags into their charges.

Then they should be taken to a deserted field at 3 a.m. or so, hit with baseball bats, kicked as they lay, and then have oil poured over them and set on fire. When they are screaming for mercy, they should receive it - one bullet to the leg, one to an arm, etc, until they roast.

These are not just common criminals but are monsters who do not deserve a trial - and any police department that wishes to protect them is not only not protecting the public, they are stupid as well.

What a hurrendous story! This is so sickening that I believe they should get the Death Penalty, and soon. We need no more of these types running around on our streets. I feel once we have people such as these 2 men, they should never see the light of day, be gang raped numerous times in prison while awaiting thier fate. Now days, things like this should be an eye for an eye. They need the same treatment as they gave this family. I will pray for the father as he must be completely devastated. This world is becoming a scarey place. I just signed on for a home security system as we here of home invasions near us every morning, almost. Everyone should be ready and able to protect themselves from these types.

If there are some violent nut cases breaking into your home at 3am, don't do what they tell you.
THEY need to do what you tell them.
Stop them immediately and if they don't leave, kill them.

This is why people should be able to stop intruders and violent criminals before they kill you.
In all 50 states it is perfectly legal to defend yourself and shoot violent criminals and intruders in your home, especially if you think they will harm you or if they are threatening your life with violence.
CRIMINALS PREFER UNARMED VICTIMS.
They always have and always will.
Responsible armed and prepared citizens who can safely and properly use their firearms are MUCH harder to rob, rape, and kill.
With gun ownership comes responsibility(they aren't toys) and the more training and practice you have the safer you will be.

These "men" weren't happy with just taking the money--they wanted to enjoy the suffering of other people. Just tie them to their prison cots every night--face down--see how they enjoy that.

The prosecutor is 'thinking' about the death penalty! Multiple rapes and then gasoline poured over thier bodies to be burned 'alive'! He is 'thinking' about the death penalty!

Forget the 12 to 15 year legal process/appeal process! Have a trial with by a judge! Review the evidence and confirm by DNA etc it is them! Then give them 60 seconds to pray!

The media is not reporting violent crimes that black men commit? That makes a lot of sense. Do you ever watch your local TV news? Anyway, in the age of the Web it's very difficult to hide anything for long. If it's the truth, people will find out about it.

This crime was indeed ghastly and we all know about it. However, anyone remember this story being spashed across cbsnews.com last January?

"They were driving when they were carjacked at gunpoint. Tney were kidnapped and driven to their home where they were forced into the home at gunpoint. While she was forced to watch, her boyfriend was raped prison style and then his *** was cut off. He was later driven to nearby railroad tracks where he was shot and set afire. But her hell was just beginning. She was beaten; gang raped repeatedly in many ways, had one of her brests cut off and bleach poured down her throat to destroy DNA evidence-all while she was still alive. To add to her degradation the suspects took turns urinating on her. They too set her body afire, apparently inside the residence, but for some reason left her body there-in five separate trash bags."

This is a horrendous crime and the blame goes directly at these two criminals. These two men acted out an insanity that was in their heads, as an American it%u2019s a sad day this kind of violence cannot be tolerated in any society. My first reaction was hang these two dirt bags but the US has a system in place and both men will be tried found guilty then let the punishment fit the crime. I%u2019ve never been a proponent of the death penalty let them serve the rest of their lives in prison and let judgment day determine the rest.

We have a growing mental health problem and these types of incidents will only become more common. Very, very sad when mental patients, who find it entertaining to torture and kill women and children, are running loose and they could be living in your neighborhood........I think we need more than a homeland security plan, but a mental health plan.

My heart aches for that family who suffered those unimaginable 6 hours of torture.

An interestingly predictable and uneducated response. If you knew church history you would realize, that Christians did not kill anyone but were burned, crucified, tortured, fed to wild beasts and endured about any other means of torture and death imaginable. Yet, Christians continued to proclaim love and forgiveness.
As so many in society, you equate people who claim to be Christian or who attend church with being a Christian. That's like claiming to be a virgin each time you are about to have *** with someone new.
A Christian is someone who follows Christ in his/her heart and acts outwardly in accordance, by living out godly principles. Mind you, that Christians are as imperfect as the rest of the human race, yet we recognize it and realize our need for forgiveness, which can only be attained through faith in Christ and a subsequent change in behavior.

Let us hope that the Connecticut Attorney General, on the Governor's orders, is scouring the books for any legal precedent that allows a summary, wrathful and public dispatch of these walking bags of sewage. Something out of the colonial annals, maybe, that mentions use of an axe?

I saw a Cheshire resident posting elsewhere and they said that if you knew the layout of the town, where the house is in relation to the bank etc you would understand why they didn't arrive in time to save the lady and her girls.

We are also too immune to dreck and *** out there. Lindsey, Paris, and Britney are our little darlings. Everytime they get into trouble, we want to know more.

We in the public need to take the bull by the horn. Most of Hollywood's pathetic actors and actresses never graduated from college, and who knows how many graduated from high school - yet we adore them, pay $20 to see films that even the old Cowboy B Westerns look like classics compared to, and pump up the gratitious s*x and violence, or the pseudo-porn of a Britney or Lindsey.

When we decide to clean up our acts, kill the monsters we give light sentences to in prison, tell Congress to behave responsibly and unite in a war against those who'd kill us all, and tell Hollywood we won't pay for their junk and garbage, and demand, no insist on quality - then maybe as a society we have a chance.

If not, as wonderful as America is, we will be doomed.
