The guy that committed the murders and then suicide. He's the one that shot through the apartment wall and shot the guy living next door while he was shooting at the people in the apartment.
vet999, Good point, I have also wondered why we didn't treat the 9/11 attackers like the criminals they were. Why didn't we get every crime fighting agency possible; Interpol, Scotland Yard, the FBI, and CIA involved in tracking down those killers. It would have diluted their message to simply treat them as criminals.
We didn't have to start an international war to solve the Oklahoma City Bombing.
You know what I don't understand. Why are gangs not treated as terrorists. They have the same misson and tactics, only the size of the attach is different. If we did and turned this over to the folks at DHS and the military this stupidity would stop.

Is there anything else you notice about the perpetrators? Like maybe they are mostly male, heterosexual, between the ages of 15 and 50, with severe anger problems?
It also highlights one of the issues with classifying some crimes as *domestic* violence. Many believe that a "domestic" incident won't affect them as long as they aren't involved in a dangerous relationship.
Unfortunately the young lady that was murdered was the daughter of the intended victim. And the neighbor that was shot through the adjoining wall certainly wasn't an intended target.
Often, "domestic" violence incidents wind up at work and co-workers get caught in the violence.
We should all be aware of the danger of these issues and shouldn't let the word "domestic" lull us into the "it won't happen to me" mentally.
My condolences and thoughts are with the loved ones of these victims.

I live in Wichita Kansas and this doesn't surprise me one bit. As of yesterday our crime rate has shot up to 100% in crime since the same time last year. I listen to my police scanner daily and I know where all the crime is in our city and avoid those neighborhoods if I can. The sad part most of these crimes are being commited by gangs of predominatly black followed by white then hispanic and oriental.
So far since january we have had 32 killings and the police of wichita have finally started a new group to fight and get these gangs under control or out of the city. Wichita is around a half a million people now and that incluedes the people who live in the county.
I do believe we have one of the most notorious gangs in Wichita now called the MS13,who will kill anyone on site,deal drugs and so on. For some reason about 10 years ago people from the east and west coast thought moving here was a great idea because of the low crime rate,yeah right,they also brought their children some of whom are gang memebers and we watched as the city grew and crime grew.
I guess you could start calling us the little odessa of kansas as we are the largest city in kansas and have more crime than kansas city itself. The crime that happened yesterday was in an area that is mostly middle upper white class. No area is totaly safe from crime,but we can help by becoming aquainted more with our neighbors and keeping a watch out for trouble.
