- ""It's absolutely fascinating," said Eileen Crimmins, a demographer at the University of Southern California. "Maybe we've reached the point where we're going to go backwards in height.""
Or maybe short people are flooding into the country.
""Though tall people are more likely to get cancer, they suffer less mortality overall than short people. ""
LOL, immortals tent to be tall?
""...European welfare states provide a more comprehensive social safety net including universal health care coverage." In the United States, by comparison, an estimated 9 million children have no health insurance. ""

- We may be shorter, but who cares? We've got the biggest guns...
Plus... ya know, I heard a rumor that the Dutch are growing so tall on purpose just to... you know, compensate for something else.... hmmm???

LOL. Dream on. My hubby is Dutch. He is tall and he has no need to compensate for anything. ON the other hand, we all know that when men equate their guns or cars or money to their d1cks--THAT is a sure sign we are dealing with a midget d1ckkkked tyrant. lmao. - Reply to this comment

- "Tall people are healthier, wealthier and live longer than short people. Some researchers have even suggested that tall people are more intelligent."
But they make lousy jockeys. No 7-footer has ever ridden to victory at the Kentucky Derby.
I bet if you factored out all those mega-salaries in the NBA, tall people would be poorer on average than short people. - Reply to this comment
- I alway knew it. Amreica I was born and raised here. Well that is old news. You grow up in the greatest nation in the world and just an American and sooner or later that is not so.

- Too bad "shelf life" is more important than good nutrition in this country.

- Diet has a lot to do with this.
When Japan adopted a more Western diet (no pun intended - Diet is also what their parliament is called) they started getting a lot bigger. The seats on Japanese trains no longer fit the average Japanese. Men over 6 feet tall are a common sight on the streets of Tokyo today.
It shouldn't really matter.
As Abe Lincoln (no shorty himself) once said, if your legs are long enough to reach from your body to the ground, you're tall enough. - Reply to this comment

- I think it's safe to assume that the measure of our stature has finally caught up with the stature of our integrity, ethics and morality and stamina, all of which show clean signs of where we are heading %u2013 downward.
