Comments on: Louisiana Bans Late-Term Abortions
La. Is First State Outlaw Procedure; Exception To Made Only If Mother's Life Is Threatened
- Abortion is wrong, but if you think the Republicans are going to do something about it then you must have been living in a cave the first six years of Bush's tenure when the Republican deceivers held an overwhelming majority in the Congress and Senate along with the majority of Supreme Court appointees. What did they do: 1. Partial birth ban, should have been named, "Girls, plan your abortion before the 6th month." 2. Stopped stem cell usage, which is a finger in the ***, but better than nothing. This is the bone that keeps'em coming back 3. Gave China, the abortion capital of the world, free trade and didn't require any human rights requirements regarding abortion, or any other human rights for that matter, to continue the trade. Nothing, Nada. Republicans will never get rid of their best vote getter - the abortion issue.
The pious and righteous Republicans are part of the abortion problem anyway. Their self righteous attitudes in looking down their noses at unwed mothers doesn't help encourage young women to have the babies, it makes them feel ashamed and guilt ridden. That plants the seed encouraging killing the baby and hiding the "problem."
Convulsing and "Praising the Lord" doesn't neccessarily mean you are caring and compassionate. - Reply to this comment
- You are overlooking the fact that an abortion kills an innocent child. The State has a legitimate interest the health and welfare of everyone, including the unborn child. And this has nothing to do with religion.

- And what term were the victims of the levee in? Gee, we don't even know how many were children. All the news media was there, but never happened to notice the levee was leaking any more than the government. Yea, who would be watching that after a hurricane, right?

- "It would be a crime in all other cases, including when the pregnancy is expected to cause health problems for the mother."
The fact that it's forbidden even if not doing it endangers the health of the woman is unforgivable. This is not a common procedure and is only rarely used and then usually only when the health of the woman is in danger. To take the decision of what is just dangerous to the woman's health, as opposed to endangering her very life, out of the hands of the doctor is unconsiounable and unforgivable. It inserts the Christian right wing between the woman and her doctor, making a religious decision, as opposed to a medical one. The interference of any religion in such issues as an individuals health is disgusting. - Reply to this comment
