NAACP Symbolically Buries Racist Word During Public Ceremony In Detroit
- It's interesting that the NAACP is meeting in Detroit but I haven%u2019t heard any comments from them about their host city.
Let's see, Detroit is number one in the nation as the:
Most dangerous city concerning violent crime.
Poorest city.
City with the lowest graduation rate at 25%.
Most segregated metro area with blacks at close. to 90% of Detroit residence and non-blacks at 95% in the surrounding suburbs.
I live within 10 miles of the Detroit city limit and I visit the city about once every 5 years. - Reply to this comment

- BELIEVE the NAACP is clueless on what to do with itself. This political organization which is tied to the Democrat Party really doesn't have any creditability left. Last year the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of COLORED PEOPLE) didn't even endorse and campaign for Africian American Michael Steele, running for Senate in Maryland. Why? Because he had a "R" after his name which stands for Republican. The Party of Abe Lincoln that freed the slaves back in the 1860's.
The "N" word today means "Nothing Left" and the NAACP should close it's doors for ever or get back to its mission, the "advancement of colored people" instead of the "advancement of Democrats" regardless of whether the person has a "D" or an "R" after their name. That's what Martin Luther King Jr. wanted now make it so. - Reply to this comment
- Wanna bury the N-word, eh? Well, how about burying any inflammatory word. I'll say what ever word I want to say. The N-word is forever here. I wouldn't advocate taking anyone's right to free speech away. Even if it offends me-can't you just grow the HE11 up? Who cares what people say?-except LIBERALS.
What's with LIBERALS who want to control everyone? - Reply to this comment
- Curbs on freedom of speech are illegal and unconstitutional, fines and government sanctions cannot be put in place, rather let the public take action as they see fit for those who continue to employ racial epithets, because there are circumstances where the word is not so, the title of a Richard Wright book, for example, or the Sly and the Family Stone song, that used them as a protest against the underlying hatred.
If a person refuses to use the N word, but still practices the discrimination, can we not say the "enemy" is camouflaged to appear to be something he is not?
As can be seen in some of these posts, there are still the un-evolved Neanderthals whose xenophobic fears lead them to posit negative aspersions about people they have never met.
Should some of this pond scum, by dint of nepotism and/or corruption ever achieve a position of power, we need to know who they are and what they "stand for", so let them spew their ignorance for all to see, then we know who and where the enemy is, and what to do about it... - Reply to this comment
- You know that the only people I ever hear using the "N" word is black people using it on each other. I can't believe that they can't see that they are the only ones that keep this B*S* alive.

- Fine the fabulous rappers for using the word. Fine them expensively, and extensively. They will soon get the message with a bundle out of their pocket-book rolls.

- We seem to behave like 5 year olds when we can't say the actual word for something. We have to use it's first letter only beacause it's a BAD word!!! Reminds me of grade school politics.

- The N word. it is a bad word. I once asked a black girl why she and her girlfriends use it,if she gave me a nasty look it went over my head. The teenage girls went quiet. My friend told me ,you ask them that, to me. I didn't know any better as I was sheltered. Now the b word and yes I have used it with other wemen. A man best not. See the patten. Blacks use the N word, women the B word. I am 52. I used the other b word when I am pissed. I had good reason that person was an arse.Words they are taken so differently and can cause a war if mis understood.

- Perception5 - you don't seem to be on the same planet as any of us if you think that a Black American could possibly be ANYTHING but a member of the Democratic Party.
To suggest otherwise shows you were obviously home skooled by an overweight, overanxious, and most likely cross-eyed Baptist Mama that let you eat whatever you wanted to as you ignored the daily paper and watched cartoons endlessly instead of attending the local school and interacting with normal, American children. This lack of interaction has caused your brain to atrophy to the extent that you display on this board with your comments....you reflect nothing of your education but what you heard at your Hillbilly Mama's knee - all her prejudices and ignorance spill out of your maw quite easily. Must easier than thinking for yourself.
If you had gone to a nice parochial school (or a public one, for that matter) you would know the history of the Republicrap Party and their total adherence to racial divisiveness...as practiced by their celebrated and storied "hero" Strom Thurmond...championed by Trent Lott, who received a censure at the hands of his Senate colleagues for his racailly-motivated comments on Thurmond's last birthday party before he died and descended into Hell...to occupy a seat right next to his heroes Nixon and Reagan.
A Black member of the Republiturd Party ? A lot like a Jew member of the Nazi Party. Incongruous. - Reply to this comment
- This action is completely worthless when you have everyone from rappers to the guys down the block saying it ALL the time and they are african american. I hear it out of the mouths of the african american communities more than anywhere else. This accomplishes absolutely nothing! It was a photo op and some press coverage.

- National Association for the Advancement of Colored People .......they need to change their name to:
National Assocation for the Advancement of Democrats.
This would be more of the truth, something this organization has a hard time doing.
It "well" past time for the political lapdog of the DNC to close its doors.
If Martin Luther King were alive today he would be "ashamed" of the NAACP............ just like the rest of us.. - Reply to this comment
