Girl Charged With DUI After Leading Alabama Police On High-Speed Chase
- did her sister get home from the concert.
a lotta 'kids' don't have parents, they have
older siblings taking care of them. or someone
already they are the ward of the court of.
maybe the parents were killed long ago.
and the court awarded her to her older sister.
literature is full of stories of kids who
have to stick together to make it. some kids
have to run away from just awful home situations.
foster homes are often even worse than the
place they fled from. why do you think there
are places like boys town in kansas, orphanages
galore all over the world? it isn't all
just cut and dried. read the story of babes
in the woods. hansel and gretel stories
are out there as i type. how about all the
missing kids on the pennysaver? do you realize
the expense of raising a child from infancy
to maturity? its astronomical. they need
3 meals a day, every day, not just when
you feel like dropping in to see how their
condition is. rich parents, poor parents,
just getting by parents. parents who
are nervous wrecks all their lives. how much
sleep do you think parents allow themselves.
the magic elves and fairies will do the
midnight feeding? take them potty at
3 am? give me a break. - Reply to this comment

- Hang on, ajmystic. To place "shame" on the parents for "letting" her drink may be misguided. Yes, they should assume some responsibility for neglect, but I somehow doubt that an 11 year old that a) drinks and b) apparently knows how to drive pretty *** well did so with her parents' blessing.

- We have a nanny govt. That is a child, A CHILD. She got no business drink no business to drive. The parents were not allowed to have THEIR arse paddled, now they have children and they can't paddle their asre. So the young parents and their children are out of control. That kid would mind let me tell you oh she would mind. Just be grateful she is some one else's kid. I never had kids but in one foster home they had day care and who watched their child. Cute a blind kid.I could not see the barn door. A kid will push ya to the limit if ya let them. So that kid be grounded, she whine all she want. She would lose computer time,tv time etc. Learn and mind. Cold. nope. I lost recess time any thing I liked to do as I messed up. I whined and it did not help. More time was added.

- I have a funny feeling she can kiss her driver's license bye-bye, and if she is awarded one when she is of age then the person(s) responsible need to be fired and have their brains examined. As for the parents, they were probably out with their friends and the girl was home alone, or they were working late and the girl was home alone. Either way, she was probably without adult supervision. Are parents EVER going to learn?

- "Her blood alcohol level was higher than .02, the legal limit for minors."
Excuse me????? What state allows minors to drink or buy alcohol? An 11 year old does not have enough knowledge to know what happens when you drink, let alone drink and drive. Her parents should be punished right along with her. Shame on them for letting her drink, not to mention committing grand theft auto. The book should be thrown at the girl and her parents. Let's hope the judge has a good aim with it and hits all three of them. - Reply to this comment
- get her a NASCAR team - she's a natural

- amerigirl28, you need to have your head examined. An 11-year-old is a YOUNG ADULT?!? GIVE ME A BREAK!! An 11-year-old is a CHILD by any sane person's measure, and the parents are totally responsible for her behavior. If the facts of the story are true as stated, this child has serious behavior problems, and that is entirely the responsibility, or fault, of the parents. Parents are SUPPOSED to keep their child from sneaking, stealing, drinking, and breaking the law. That's part of what being a parents is all about. But what's more important is raising your child so he or she doesn't WANT to sneak, steal, drink, or break the law. I hate to think of the type of parent you are, or will be.

- This is what I am talking about; young kids are capable of anything, which is why they need to be severly punished, not "rehabed"...

- Sorry, amerigirl28, but an eleven year old is NOT a young adult. She is a child!

- she is already on her way to punkdome; give her severe punishment, or else she will start to barbeque kittens, beat kids up with a sword, robbing banks, and using meth all before she is 15.
what a pathetic society we live in. And I ask, why are people having kids if they really don't want them? - Reply to this comment
- If there is ANY alcohol in an 11-year-old's system, then she was over the limit, right?!
And, why wasn't she charged with driving with no license?
Where are the parents? And what charges do they face? - Reply to this comment
- Oh come ON, amerigirl28. The kid needs to be put over her parents knee. After someone does the same thing to the parents.

- Ummm..."young adult"? How about not even a teenager? Her parents should be aware of where she was and what she was doing...otherwise, how can they protect her. No it isnt their fault, but they should be aware.

- Forgive me my bad grammar, I meant to say "They may not be Drambuie, but they're just about as effective if you swallow..."

- we should be careful not to attack the parents. A child as old as her isn't a child, she is a young adult. If she chooses to do such a reckless thing, that should be on her....parents can't keep her from sneaking, stealing and driving every waking moment. That just isn't fair, they are probably ticked off and embarrassed, angry and hurt at their daughters actions.

- Does Paris have a sister? :P
But on a more serious note, keep the cherry flavored cough syrup and vanilla mint Listerine away from the tyke. It may not be Drambuie, but they're just about as effective if you swallow... - Reply to this comment
- ...and the parents were where?
Probably securing a lawyer to sue the cops for chasing their little ELEVEN (!) year old angel, or suing them for not stopping her sooner thereby being the cause of her "accident".
Family values. Sigh. - Reply to this comment
- If a person is legally drunk at .08 (for adults)...then when is a person illegally drunk?? Food for thought.
