This poor kid, no normal life for her anymore. Her parents need to sue for lifetime compensation and then some for her to be put into a trust fund. She will be lucky if she lives a longer life.

Pools are dangerous. I was staying somewhere in CT when I saw 3 young kids go into the pool room and an older one followed them in. I alerted the staff about it who then called the parents and told them to get down there. The kids were good, they did wait at a table until their parent showed up. What could have happened to them? I swam alone but knew I would be okay. Parents also need to be vigilent about what their child is doing and where they sit.

you jumped on annie_roxx2 for expressing her sympathy for the victim. Did you not? I am glad that the sick jokes are gone. I see that most of your comments here are about other users. I feel almost as sorry for you as I do for this Poor child who was injured in this horrific accident.

"I proud of the fact that I took part in getting this thread back to a serious dicussion about this poor accident victim." Poisonbear.

LOL, yeah right, I and Michelle and a couple of others got the thread back on track early this morning after you flamed out and skulked away saying CBS is all retards and you were going to CNN where as I gather- you prefer moderators clean and sanitize everything for you 100%.
Revisionism of history doesn't work well when people can scroll back a page or two and see your flame-fest spam posts cursing and then mine, Michele's and the pool manager taking over from there.

I've been here for many months, I don't remember seeing YOU around here before.

CBS staffers I'm SURE have better things to do that edit out a handful of stupid joke posts by trolls, you need to get a life or go to CNN Poisonbear and stop pestering CBS staffers over every little thing you don't like here in these free forums.

POisonbear; last night you whined that you were LEAVING, and then you flamed out, cursed, flooded the board and skulked off, now you are back again and your comments prove you are obsessed with this. This is the INTERNET, you cannot control what is said and if people want to make sick jokes that's their right. The fact that you said you were here FLOODING and disrupting this thread half the night shows you need help from a psychiatrist before you burn out or go postal.
I do not pretend I am a moderator, I am NOT a CBS moderator and never claimed to be, I am the moderator of another non-news site's boards and chat room and have seen trolls like YOU many times, as well as people obsessed with claning up the entire internet themselves which is impossible and you will make yourself crazy if you even try.

I'm not jumping on anyone for expressing their OPINIONS, I am on your case for your obvious and stated goal to disrupt, flood and shut down these boards- you have said it before and you repeated it here, your intent is not dialogue it's censorship and removing comment boards because YOU don't like a few comments made by obvious trolls.
YOU fell for their game hook line and sinker- they post krap like those sick jokes you claimed were here to GET people like you to go balistic, and man you sure did- you wasted half the night in here on flooding, cursing and trying to get the whole board removed.

Wow. The injury must have been agonizing. It would be easy to joke, given the nature of it, but my God ... poor little kid.

superchez1, another childish insult from a know troll. If you support the kind of childish bathroom/body parts jokes that I and others were complaining about, then perhaps you should log in to one of those sicko sights like banged up.

No I'm not a "hall monitor" people can come on here and argue about the law-suit and the pool-constructions side of this story. People can come on here and talk about thier symapthy for the vicitm. Trolls can come on here to attack other users like you have. People can even come on here to make sick jokes--but when they do everyone has the right to complain to CBS about sick jokes and ask to have them removed. I and others complained about the sick jokes out of respect for the family. and now the sick jokes are gone. If you don't like it, then get CBS to change the rules.

PS. I'm Not religious and the name calling really shows your age.

Does anyone know about the case in North Carolina to which this article refers? Do you know who represented the child and her family in court and won a settlement, as well as an admission of neglect from the manufacturer? It was John Edwards. Call him an ambulance chaser all you want, but he went up against a big company who refused to back down, and he won. Granted, the girl will never lead a normal life, but her medical bills are paid and they received punitive damages.

when this thread started yesterday, there were several posts that were very sick and cruel jokes about this poor girls injuries. Myself and others complained and CBS took some but not all of the offensive jokes off. This is a place for opinions and comments, but everyone has the right to report abuse and have offensive comment reviewed by CBS for removal. I spent the better half of the night spamming and flooding this thread until finally CBS pulled the offensive jokes. throughout the whole ordeal several trolls, newster1, toolmanger, MichelleM99 and others continued a childish barage of attacks and insults---I guess they wanted to read teh sick jokes. Well too bad for them I proud of the fact that I took part in getting this thread back to a serious dicussion about this poor accident victim.
God be with her and her family.

I hate the greed. I almost died in a public pool why. I was not aware I have epilespy. At 10. had one and Mr. Walker pulled me out the pool. Never got back in again. It put fear in me. It was the fact foster Mum didn't care that they went untreated until I became adult. Will the pool takecarers learn anything and fix the problem, well time will tell. I am legally blind as well so who is the blame for this girl. The parents, and the care takers for doing a half arse job. Is it any wonder why the are sue happy people. I feel that if the person who runs a home business wishes make an asre than that person should be aware he/she is driving his/her bread and butter away. I know you are so right newster1. It is the other one who need to learn and he/she need to learn that if he/she has a business you don't be hot headed and it don't take an old lady to to drive this home.

hey why has nobody asked about the health inspector who gave the ok for the place to open or the building code people who approved the pool building codes that put the system in....granny clause should not apply to safty issues.....i have kids and grandkids that if this happened to them a whole lot of people would be named in a law suit---you ever had to feed someone thru a tube and clean the wound around the tube--this family has a very hard road ahead--all money aside---everyone should keep this family in their prayers for a long time.

If annie_roxx2 want to memorialize this tragedy by repeating her sympathy for this poor little girl, then she has everyright to. This message board is the best place for her and anyone who wants to to express thier concern for this accident victim.

People like newster1 who come on here just topretend that they are moderators and to jump on other people for expressing thier opinions are trolls.

ZykraCosmos; good to have someone in the industry comment. When I was very little- about age 3-4 we had a large built-in pool, I fell in the deep end and wound up at the bottom and drowned, I remember seeing the grate up close. Dad jumped in and pulled me out. Despite that- later on I did use pools and the ocean, but haven't been in one since I was 14 in a lake at summer camp and my foot touched something hard in deep water I couldn't see, and it scared the hell out of me. I am not a fan of pools, they are a liability, dangerous, an extravagant waste of drinking water and so on.

Pools are here to stay however, so they'd better fix the defects. The pool manager's attitude in this case sucks- denying any problem and passing it all onto the INSURANCE agent and lawyers to deal with, and he goes home in the evening for a nice dinner and TV. I hope they get sued big time- as well they should in this case.

annie_roxx2 ; this is a discussion forum not a memorial board or pity corner, we don't need 47 posts all going on with; "oh the poor girl!" we KNOW, we sympathize, it's a given that it's a tragedy but we don't need to repeat "oh the POOR girl!" 47 times.

MichelleM99; thanks. You said;

"I am sorry that remarks I made about a business was uncalled for."

Businesses exist for one reason, and one only- to make a profit, the larger the business the more crooked their dealings are, why? because the corporate entiry protects the officers of the corporation from personal culpability and liability (generally civil, except criminal)
In other words- you can sue "the corporation" but the corporation protects the officers if they were acting in capacity FOR the corporation. This includes bankruptcy.
That means their INSURANCE pays, while the CEO gets to keep his personal $3.9 million house, 4 cars and Rolex.
The employees lose everything, the CEO's get a $10 million bonus.
Maybe it's time to make those responsible for WILLINGLY overlooking known safety or other defects (such as the contaminated pet food) -PERSONALLY responsible.
I totally despise corporations and their crooked CEO's, the whole system was set up to avoid taxes and allow CEO's to get away with almost aything.

OMIGOD, this poor little girl...this is BEYOND horrifying. Can you imagine her terror?

As for soem of you people and your postings, all I can do is pity you and wonder if it wasn't your head that got something sucked out of it in a pool drain. Have you no sense of empathy for this poor child?

Hello? This is not about you... a little girl was horribly injured and the news is reporting it. My gosh, can't you people get yourselves off your mind for a minute and be concerned? I'm glad this is being broadcast so maybe this won't ever happen to another child.

newster1..
As a former pool manager in multiple locations, I wholeheartedly agree with your synopsis. The pool design that injured this little girl was a danger from the beginning, and the designer is liable, and probably will be sucessfully sued.
