brianbwb,

Don't worry about Marcpcbs, I had originally asked about non jingoistic reasons for the original decision to make pot illegal.

Thanks; I was just trying to have an intelligent conversation.

Thank God Nothing like this ever happened to George Bush's two sainted *** Alcoholic daughters.

Go with J E S U S!

Give us a break. This article has nothing to do with George Bush or his daughters. This article is about Al Gore's son. Twist as you will, it would be irrational to blame George Bush for something that Al Gore's son did.

Al Gore 111 is a embarassment to the family but just remember no family is exempt from screw balls who cause embaressments like Ross Perot said we all have a crazy aunt living in the attic. Al Gore 111 will never be elected President not like former president George Bush son who was elected President after all our current President refused to take a physical while serving in the air national guards during the vietnam war which got him grounded since he was a pilot the only reason I could come up with for refusing a physical is you can not pass a drug test. but that old history now just do not judge Former Vice President on what his sibling do or any politcian children weather you like him/her or dislike them

"It can happen in the best of families."

You are correct. Good parents try to instill values in their children. Children learn by example, from what they see and hear, and from friends. If a parent doesn't see anything wrong with speeding, drinking, using drugs, or smoking there is a good chance that their children will follow suit. There are always exceptions. As you point out, "It can happen in the best of families."

to AJMarine1,

Don't worry about Marcpcbs, I had originally asked about non jingoistic reasons for the original decision to make pot illegal. What he gave as info is jingoism, and based on the "refer-madness-pot-is evil" propaganda, backed up with improvised statistics. He is anti pot, and nothing we can show will enlighten him.

Since the crickets are still chirping as to any real justification for the illegality of pot, we can assume that it is now a matter of "its bad because its illegal".

Just like every other father's son on the block. "I tried something new to find out if I liked or not dad, cause we don't really trust you to tell us the truth anymore after figuring out how we got used."

Same with every family in the history of the world. Don't trust you, been lied to enough. Remind anyone of Bush's daughters, your sons/daughters, this country and its allies? In the eyes of children, their are those who are honest with them and those who are not. Trusted or Untrusted. Because, sadly, that's life today. And always has been. Trusted source.

Marcpcbs,

"I guess your saying that because we already have serious problems with alcohol in our schools that it's OK to also have a serious pot problem there too."

I said "adults" should be allowed to decide what social drugs they choose to use; with your line of thinking they should outlaw alcohol and tobacco because they are problems in schools also.I a am Viet Nam vet, have a B.S. in Business and am a supervisor where I work; I don't drink and I don't smoke tobacco. The government tells me everyday how bad alcohol and tobacco is, but they keep raking in Billions of dollars in taxes from them. Either make everything legal or make it illegal or shut up.

"You must be making money from selling pot."

Where the H**L do you get off making a statement like this.

I guess your saying that because we already have serious problems with alcohol in our schools that it's OK to also have a serious pot problem there too. You must be making money from selling pot.

As far as the 70% figure I used, that comes from the Center for National Illegal Drug Sales, Sheriffs Departments from all across the country, The AMA studies of Drugs in High Schools, Junior High Schools and K-12 Schools in America. Law Enforcement and educational sources have pooled all their info and come up with these findings and worse. Plus, as a carpenter, I spent the last 23 years in Mendocino County CA. watching the county being taken over by growers who openly say that kids are their best customers because they can't tell good pot from bad and they will pay top dollar. Allot of people are presenting lots of info that says hemp, ( they call it hemp ), is good for this and that. This huge pile of lies is making so pot growers can continue to gain misguided sympathy so they can continue to poison kids with their pot. THC has been available in a highly concentrated pill form for the last 30 years.
