- to AJMarine1,
I think that because not everyone has a "green thumb" or even the space to grow good marijuana (city apartment dwellers for one example), and not every area of the US can grow it like northern California, or Hawaii, there will still be opportunities to make very good legal business, and a very good revenue source for taxes that could very well fund the repair of our education and health care services. - Reply to this comment

What are your thought about making tree bark illegal? - Reply to this comment
- to AJMarine1,
My experiences living for four years in Amsterdam can confirm what you said about your police friends.
There they have "coffeeshops" where marijuana and hashish can be bought and smoked, and they have bars that sell alcohol. Rare is the shop that sells both, they are two different crowds.
If you go to a bar, you see a normal bar, usually somewhat civilized but raucous and loud, as most bars are until two or more customers get too drunk and start a fight.
Go to a coffeeshop, the atmosphere is quieter, games of chess, backgammon, progressive music, laptop computers surfing the net, generally a much more laid back place, fights are almost non existent.
I would much rather my child (if I had one) work in a coffeeshop than a bar... - Reply to this comment
- brianbwb,
I have friends that are police and they say they would rather be in a room full of people high as a room full of drunks and that they have never had to break up a fight between two people that are high.
I think another reason pot is not legal is because the government couldn't control it to collect taxes, everybody would grow their own.
Another thing, pot is a weed that grows anywhere, what if someone found a way to get high off of tree bark; would the government make tree bark illegal? - Reply to this comment
- to AJMarine1,
If you actually were selling it, you would be doing something beneficial for people and yourself. Outside the legality aspect, I see nothing wrong with that.
I would rather see everyone getting buzzed, than killing each other in illegal wars.
By the way, did you know that refined sugar is more addictive than cocaine, and has extreme metabolic effects, see what happens when a child eats a bowl of sugar-laden breakfast cereal, then turns into a little tornado. In every respect a "drug"... - Reply to this comment
- Logging out. I'll leave with this... Federal law mandates that the average speed of on any given road in the United States mandates the speed limit. Prove the average, present the speed limit of any given road to federal and not local authorities.
Drugs that annihilate the ability to drive are illegal, easily obtainable, and should be avoided. Like a first credit card. Just think, you could end up like the president of the U.S.

- "THC has been available in a highly concentrated pill form for the last 30 years.

Wrong. What the drug salesmen call THC pills are a mixture of many substances ranging from methamphetamine to "angel dust", to strychnine. THC is an oil soluble aromatic substance that has too short a shelf life to make a viable pill.
The reason "THC pills" kill is because the sale of marijuana is illegal, so the salesmen also sell anything else they think will make money. By calling it THC, they fool many into risking their lives ingesting substances they have no real idea about.
Make marijuana legal, then the illicit drug salesman won't have the opportunity to expose the gullible to far more dangerous substances, the price will drop, (it is now more expensive per ounce than gold) and the jails won't be overcrowded with people who have harmed no one. - Reply to this comment
