I never suggested that we silence, but simply ignore you...big difference.

So not only do you suck at English, but cognitive reasoning as well...not surprised.

Silence - an absence of notice or acknowledge of something.

Ignore - to refuse to notice or pay attention to somebody or something.

Cognition doesn't come easy for you now does it. I wouldn't venture your ability at abstraction either. But don't trouble yourself, I won't test yuor language skills.

JEGibbons,,, , Comparing any part of this fiasco to the War in Europe or Pacific or how we treated prisoners then is insulting & dishonorable to our veterans.

==but I think that treatment is horrible and shouldn't happen to anyone.==

I agree with the sentiment in youur posting 100%. HOWEVER this has absolutely NOTHING to do with GITMO detainees!

You don't GET IT they have no guarantees under our US Constitution, nor am I willing to GIVE THEM THAT. These people want to kill us. Oh I guess you don't believe that. BUT I DO.

How many of those Japanese-American citzens were released from detention during WWII?
ANSWER: None! Not until until the Emperor agreed to unconditional surrender. And those folks were truly INNOCENT!

BTW: Many GITMO detainees who have been released are later picked up again on the battlefields in Afganistan and Iraq. That doesn't sound innocent to me. These ENEMY COMBATANTS are not Innocent.

But if you believe we are not at war then all bets are off? Many LIBERALS make that argument.

Maybe Santa Claus should run as a Democrat???

mudrose,,,,, Duncan Hunter doesn't tell you --- When the Politicians & news cameras leave, someone plays La Bamba on the car radio & they stand up from behind rocks on our side of the fence & cheer.

JEGibbons:

So you're sitting down to dinner, when WHAM! The police kick in your front door and say, "You're under arrest." They take you to jail but don't charge you with anything, don't let you call a lawyer, and they don't give you a trial. They just put you in jail and hold you there for 3 or 4 years, occasionally torturing you for information. Of course after a while the information is old and outdated, but who cares - they've got you. Then they just release you back at your house 3 or 4 years later. Call me a looney leftie if you like, but I think that treatment is horrible and shouldn't happen to anyone.
