I AGREE WHEN YOU SAID (OGREDADDY) THAT CBS HAS FAILED US. But why did you not mention ABC,
NBC, MSNBC and forget FOX!
You are right, journalism use to be an honorable profession. We might blame Rupert Murdock even more than the Republican party for what has happened to American news. You are right again, the news more than the Dems could have prevented this war, simply by telling the truth. I, like DUBYAH, thought that no one was going to ask, after the invasion. NOW WHERE IS THE WMD.s. Did you see that New Orleans Cop
that beat the teacher shoot himself in the head! That is the power of the Liberal, truth telling press!

Taxes on wages, salary, and tips are indirect taxes paid by your employer via higher wages (like booze taxes passed onto buyers) and need not be apportioned as they are not direct taxes rather uniformly applied to all, thus Article 1, Section 8, Clause 1 "Congress has the power to lay Taxes" is one of the "SHOW ME THE LAW" Laws; that and 16th Amendment.

I remember a time when journalism was an honored profession
working for the people to tell them the truth.

CBS failed our nation exposing the lies that led us to war.
CBS has failed to expose the corruption in our government.
and now CBS fails once again to dig for the truth, expose the truth
and publish the truth.

SHOW US THE LAW!

The Tax Code is NOT LAW!!!!!

Hey libertymike1:

Where does the Constitution provide for mandatory Social Security withholdings which is not even a tax, it's a savings account? At least there are 4 (four) mentions of taxes, but nothing about mandatory savings accounts in the Constitution.

They tax your telephone, they tax you for watching TV after they collect taxes for buying them both.

They tax your car, they tax you for using your car they tax you for driving your car, they tax you for the gas and ooil that makes your car go. Then, they tax the repairs on the car as well.

They tax your wages, and then they tax your food, and they tax your clothes, and they tax the wages of all the people who sell you these items, driving up the costs of those things 15-39%, before you ever get them.

They tax your employer for taxing you, and drive down your wages because of those taxes. Then they force unemployment taxes, that also drive down the value of your labor, and further reduce your wages.

By the time you get to figure out exactly what you give to the government, after all the price increases caused by immoral taxation, its about 2 cents on the dollar. And guess what, when you go cash your check, and get your paper money, its literally not worth the paper its written on. The government doesnt work the gold standard like our forefathers did, they found a way to fleece the people of these once great United States by making an endless supply of money that has absolutely no value but that of the word of the men and women in congress that allow US Citizens to be betrayed by thier own government.

So, we now can truely say we know what its like to be slaves to a corrupt social system.

If you would think about it, taxing wages at higher and higher percentages is what drove away our jobs and factories.

Every time they charge a tax, you have to charge more for the wages. Then they charge taxes to employers for having employees that pay taxes, and tax the tax collected with taxes that pay the tax collectors, and tax the system to the point that 4 out of every 10 dollars goes back to coffers of the creator ever time its churned. Each one of them dollars are in circulation for at least a decade, returning outrageous profits to an entity of government that has no right to collect this type of tax anyways.

Tax your brain lately? Its the only way out of this jungle.

The Government can tax income. What is income? I get a Job working for John Doe making ten dollars an hour building widgets. I can build one widget a hour. John Doe sells the widget for twenty dollars. His cost to build the widget is ten dollars for labor and two dollars for related expense, his gain is eight dollars. That is income that can be taxed. The ten dollars that is paid in wages is NOT income, it is a even exchange for labor performed. My payment is the money his payment is the widget, even exchange.
If I mow my neighbors grass and he gives me five pounds of tomatoes how could you call that income? Its a agreed upon exchange of labor for payment in food and lawn mowed. He grew the tomatoes "labor" for a exchange of lawn mowing "labor". His payment was the lawn being mowed, mine was the tomatoes.
Money represents labor performed, or time taken out of my life in exchange for the money. The Government DOES NOT own me like a slave for free labor. Slavery was abolished almost 150 years ago.
There are plenty of legitimate taxes but the income tax is not one of them.
