Maybe you didn't understand my point superchez1. I don't believe in god or heaven. I do believe in forgiveness. Vengence and hate only fuels a miserable and unhappy life.
That doesn't mean that I like this guy nor the fact that he destoyed this young woman. Justice will determine his sentence and there will be people who agree and people who disagree with its terms. But if we fail to forgive and move on, then this criminal has destroyed us too.

Women, please don't let this girl have died in vain. Learn from her. Arm yourselves.

This girl was taken from a store parking lot, stores we all go to, thinking they are too public for anything like this to happen.

This girl was young and confident. She probably felt she could defend herself, her best friend thought so. But she couldn't.

This girl could have had anything in her purse, pepper spray, mace, tazzer. But that purse ended up in her car and she ended up dead. Stuff in her purse was useless to her.

Men have more muscle and those bent on doing a woman damage is physically able to. And what did she or others like her have to endure BEFORE she died.

Women, it is time to arm yourselves. It just isn't safe out there any more. And you are risking body and life by not being pro-active in your own protection. Take a class in protection, take an arms class, get a gun. Stop thinking this couldn't happen to you, because it could. For every death like this on CBS, how many hundreds of assaults, rapes, deaths do not make national news. It is time to equal the playing field with men.

Men, those of you who have women you love, ask them to take an active roll in their own safety.
Had this girl been carrying a concealed weapon, I bet there would have been one less criminal living today, instead of one less nice girl.

Women, it is time to take safety into your hands. Don't delude yourself any more. Don't let this girl have died in vain. Learn from her.

I'm agnostic; I haven't any proof or personal experience to say that there is or isn't a god. I do believe that it is not very nice to call someone stupid because they do or do not believe. It's also not very nice to talk down to others just because you believe your own viewpoint to be correct and others not.
What I can't believe is that almost no one, regardless of belief, is talking about forgiveness!

hhusted,

Wait, are telling everyone God abused his son and now is under a court order not to touch that son for an unspecified amount of time? Well if God was abusive to any of his children once, he'll probably be abusive again; and any sane and rational child wouldn't want to be around an abusive parent period.

Tonyh41,

Everyone wants to quickly blame God for what happens to people when a disaster occurs. What people don't realize is that Satan is responsible, not God. Why didn't God intervene? Simple. Over a thousand years ago, God made a promise to mankind that he would not interfere in their everyday affairs, unless he is requested to. He gave man freedom of choice and a free will to do as they please. If the person is in God's favor and that person dies, God, by means of his son Jesus, will resurrect that person and reunite that person with his/her loved ones. But to understand this you must read the Bible and have faith. If you don't you are a lost cause.

God has a timetable when he is going to stop all the badness on earth. He will not stop what is happening until his time arrives. It is just like a father, who has been abusive to his son, then he gets caught but is told not to do it again. After that, the father must not touch his son, since he agreed never to do so. It is the same with God. He made a promise thousands of years ago that he would not get involved in man's affairs until the time was right. It is all in the Bible. Read it.

I am not a avid pro-gun type. I do believe we have the right to defend ourselves. With happenings like this I am begining to believe I need to teach my daughters - and sons, to use a gun safely & encourage them to get a permit to carry a gun.
