good nite, lorestrick.
It was good to debate, rebut, and come to terms with the ills of the world. Maybe next time we can discuss cheesecake and chocolate!

hanging generally works by the weight of the body and gravity and the acceleration caused by dropping from a stable plane into the air--causing the spinal column to separate from the head--usuually resulting in a death within seconds if done correctly. Unfortunately, it is rare that hangings are done correctly and often the body is left to jerk and convulse as the person is slowly asphyxiated, often with blood and foam pooling within their heads and lungs.

The reason the infant did not die is actually very simple--the body weight would not have been a great enough differential from the head being held in place and the force of gravity on the rest of the body. In other words, the child was too light to die this way and was essentially swinging in space by their head.

For larger persons, when the head and neck are held stationary, the abrupt drop of the body either separates the vertebrae in the neck (often resulting in decapitation or partial decap.) or the person slowly strangles to death.

Hanging is actually a very violent way to die and the excruciating pain/stress that often accompanies it --causes the victim to void their bowels as well as urinate on themselves.

Anyway, the baby did not weigh enough to hang--which is why younger children are usually strangled by hand or garotte when a killer wishes to choke them to death.

For some reason, this woman felt that life was not worth living. She was a poor uneducated Mexican American single mother who lived in a trailer with her 4 babies by the time she was 25. What to look forward to for herself or those babies? Certainly not becoming popular college students. She wanted to end this because it was a worthless life and she would rather see her daughters dead than watch them grow up to realize what America had in store for them.

bequialife--i guess i am getting back full circle to your original comment,(the one i did not like) not that poor people should not breed, but that the should at least limit themselves. 4 children would be a financial strain for a WELL OFF family in todays world

Based on the photos and the name of the husband, the woman was either Hispanic or Filipino. Given that, chances are high that she was an orthodox Catholic and therefore did not believe in contraception. On another note, the children appear to the product of more than one union and it always is interesting to note that those who cite religion as the reasons to not practice contraception or abortion seem to forget about religion when they spread their legs. On still another note, (for those who follow scripture) suicide is considered a sin and according to scripture, is punishable with hellfire like other sins not repented from. People who kill themselves leave very little windows to repent in prior to death.

I think that we need to remember that the youngest child is only 8 months old. Yes, it DOES take two to make this many babies. It also takes two to raise them. Until we KNOW - absolutely without question HOW she ended up alone, working for a wage that barely pays rent we shouldn't pass judgement on her OR him. It is tragic and heartwrenching to know that these three beautiful and innocent children are gone, and the surviving baby? What a burden to live with. The WHY is not really the issue is it? How did any of us get here that we can blame the President (who I did NOT vote for) or the war - that she was NOT enlisted for - and the birds and the bees and the homeless... COULD she have been abused? sure. COULD she have had post partum? sure. If you are one to pray for these souls or even if you are not. Until you truly FEEL this kind of love or desperation - you will NEVER know what truly happened here - but no matter HOW the truth unfolds - maybe the first step is to look inward and see how we can help from here on out instead of sitting back and shaking our heads.

**never touch me** i am sorry you had a bad experience with mothers, there really are those out there who are loving, caring, decent, wonderful people who put their children above all else ( I know they are not as easy to find these days but they do exist) ... you apparently wrote your 1st comment about monster mothers in a matter of minutes, I was not kidding when I said it was good ( dark poetry is not my thing, and I find it disturbing, but talent is talent, you should submit some of your writings (hopefully not quite so dark) I really think you can get published

I think young children can be a strain on anyone, financially, emotionally, mentally and physically, this can affect anyone of any age, any income level and any mental capacity... It is all about how a woman or a man (there are more single fathers these days) handles that strain..(you dont hear of the single fathers killing themselves and their kids).I do not believe that the evils that people do should be excused by post-partum or any other diagnosis,I am far from an expert however, post partum like many forms of depression is linked to a chemical inbalance which makes reasonable thinking impossible I believe that post partum does exist, and I do believe that it is a serious problem, I do not believe it is responsible for as many wrongdoings as it is blamed for.. As i Said earlier, post-partum was not just invented, it has always been around, (it is just popular to blame inexcusable actions on it now.) People have only begun killing their kids in recent history, last 10 maybe 20 years..

I would think 4 kids would be an emotional strain as well; the pressures of working longer hours (who really works a simple 9-5, with a full hour lunch), less vacation, etc.
