Anti-War Activist And Mom Of Killed G.I. In Iraq Resigns Role As "Face" Of Movement
- Cindy Sheehan is a hero. She tells the truth - something we all hate - so of course she makes enemies. America is seriously off track, sending its young men and women around the world with guns and bombs to inflict its view of how things should be, whether other people like it or not. It's the Israeli model, take what you want and *** the torpedoes. Justify it to yourselves and then wonder why people hate you, but don't wonder too long, just call them terrorists and kill as many of them as possible. Most of all never, never question what you are doing, just wrap the flag tighter around you. Cindy Sheehan sees the madness in this, the waste of her son's and other son's lives, the destruction to other people. She has actually done much more than she thinks she has done. She started a movement that will ultimately prevail. Stopping a war juggernaut like Bush's is like stopping a battleship under full steam. But over 60% of the country now hates this war, and that hatred is coalescing politically, largely because of people like Ms. Sheehan. She is like the chinese man standing before the tank, saying NO ! Go home Ms. Sheehan, history will prove you right and all those who criticized you wrong. All the high and mighty Republicans who are going to lose their elections can trace the beginnings of their fall to your camping in a trench in Texas, asking Bush the Infallible why your son had to die.

- Cindy is a great woman - and many of us share her desperation and sadness with an American society that doesn't want to see the destruction our officials do in our name to countless millions across the globe since 1945.
Stay at home america! Put your deadly toys away. - Reply to this comment
- Anyone who insults Cindy Sheehan is not a parent.
processor2 compares Cindy Sheehan to Tokyo Rose, this is interesting because anyone who cares about history and facts will know that "Tokyo Rose", Iva Toguri d%u2019Aquino, a US citizen, was convicted of treason on the basis perjured testimony against her. This was the most expensive trial in American history up until that time, and probably the most garishly trumped-up of all show trials, though these facts have been largely forgotten. She spent more than 6 years in prison and after release was served with a deportation order which took two years to fight. In 1976, the TV news show 60 Minutes told the Tokyo Rose story from Toguri's point of view. This led to a full pardon for Toguri from President Gerald Ford in 1977.
The US military knew during the war that "Tokyo Rose" was not a individual, but it was useful wartime propaganda to promote the idea of the hidden enemy within... a tactic that still seems effective today.

- Cindy has done more than her share. Nothing scares the right wing more than honesty.

- As a college professor of WOMEN's STUDIES, I can bring some understanding and wisdom to this discussion. The MEN who are posting HATEFUL comments, are doing so as they are afraid of the castrating nature of MS Cindy ( my sister in the struggle !) comments, her cutting remarks, and "standing up" firmly to authority - all are seen by men as a way to insult their own manhood/ masculinity/authorization of self.
That she insists on speaking freely, and driving herself from demonstration to demonstration, is another attack on MEN, as MEN always want to drive the BUS, and thus have women listen to them . When that bus goes off the road who is to blame ? Not the passengers, no, and MEN are fearful, therefore of not being in control. Cindy S, in control is driving her own BUS, taking on her own life, responsibilities in face of a withering MALE EGO. If she leaves the road for how, the bus of her dreams, and women's rights will stop only for her to catch her breath ! My classes next September will be devoted to her lectures. Men in my classes must pledge to be silent, to keep the faith of leadership pure. Yes and be strong, like Cindy.
All women have full rights to speak out, do and go where they want. Women have less rights here and Western Civilization vs. all other countries, which makes our society fearful of change, vis a vis a subcortical fear of castration.
These concepts are strongly erected on facts. - Reply to this comment

- That *** pesky Jesus. Not the same one Repubicans love they love Money and Jesus name is not the same.
Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me.
Mat 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Mat 19:23 6 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. - Reply to this comment

- I think she was an insult to her dead son. He enlisted...he was not drafted. She sacrificied a 29 year marriage and wasn't there for her surviving children for 3 years. It's about time she gives up and gets her life back on track. Thank you to her son for serving this country.
