Anti-War Activist And Mom Of Killed G.I. In Iraq Resigns Role As "Face" Of Movement
- The man, brain, real deal, patriot and dope peddeler to the Republican mind. Mush Limbaugh and Carl Rovie look at me Jesus Im so groovy.
2Ti 3:1 6 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. - Reply to this comment
- The religious right is one big false prophet.
1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Ouch, sorry I know this verse really ticks Republicans off.
Jam 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Those tough guy Republicans can't be liking this message.

- I can just see those baskets on Sunday moring full of dollar bills. All week the Republicans go to work lying, cheating, berating and thuging every man, women and child in thier way. Come Sunday moring those same Republicans reach into there pockets to purchase that gift from God.
Act 8:20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. - Reply to this comment
- Can any sane person imagine a Republican doing this?
Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Oh another verse the harden hearts of Republicans hate.
Hbr 12:14 Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Did the ole Rev Jerry read this one on Sunday mornings?
Pro 18:11 The rich man's wealth [is] his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.
Good ole Sean Vanity doesn't push proverbs on those scoundrel Libs does he?
Pro 28:11 The rich man [is] wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
Mr. O'Smirky Riles stays away from this one.
Mar 10:25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
I can hear Rudy Gully Annie at the GOP convention opening with this zinger.
1Ti 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; - Reply to this comment
- To Ms. Sheehan
You have, over time, most eloquently made your case, and helped to give strength to those who were at first afraid to call Mr. Bush out on what he has done to our country. Your contributions have been recorded for posterity, and you will be remembered as a vanguard fighter for truth and justice.
It is indeed sad that those who promised to end Mr. Bush's crimes have instead also put "all four into the trough", but their lack of action on behalf of at least the American victims of Mr. Bush are also recorded for posterity.
You deserve to rest now, try to build a new life, and let others take up the fight. It may take a while, as it did to catch up to Mr. Pinochet, or many of the Nazi war criminals around the world, but the process is under way, and I hope that Mr. Bush and his co-conspirators will be hounded for the rest of their lives, and that we will see justice done for our lost with our own eyes.

- Those scabby Repots really hated to hear this one so they never read that verse. That's welfare and Republicans hate welfare but they lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve God he, he.
1Ti 6:18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
Is Tony Blow going to come the press conference and open with this?
Jam 5:1 Go to now, [ye] rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon [you].
Dam poor little Reburies just don't get it.
1Ti 6:10 for the love of money is the root of all-evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. - Reply to this comment
- Cindy Sheehan was never the face of the anti-war movement. It has been faceless ... and that has been the problem from the start.
Vietnam proved that the United States could fumble its way into a Civil War under the ruse that we were fighting communism. Iraq has proven that we can still fumble our way into a Civil War under the ruse of fighting another 'ism'. Dogmatists like most of those commenting here and the neo-cons, who either wasted or supported the sustained waste of Americans and American treasure are invulnerable to education.
The tragedy of Cindy Sheehan is that she became visible and gave up. The bigger tragedy are those who are invisible and never really tried to end a catastrophe, which is incalculable in real time.
We'll know the real score when we count up the lies told in the 'run-up' ... American deaths, suicides, divorces, orphans, chemical and substance abuses induced, prosthetics fitted, troops maimed, lives destroyed, mental health visits recorded ... Iraqis killed and wounded and displaced and crazed ... terrorists recruited by Al Qaeda in Iraq responsive to Bush's 'Bring Them On' admonition ... and Bush's conversations with God.
Meanwhile, if Iraq and its residual effects don't kill us, climate change and/or a failed democracy may.
So, let the smug be ecstatic and enjoy their moments of sunshine in the fall of Cindy Sheehan. Then they can go back to their reality shows, wave the flag, and sustain their stupidity. - Reply to this comment

- The Republicans, neocons, armchair generals, and Bush-babies are dancing in the streets. They have won another one with Sheehan calling it quits and they are now that much closer to creating "THE NEW ORDER" in the former USA, soon to be the USSA (United Soviet States of America).
While all the right-wingers and warhawks are celebrating, I am one of those few people who do feel sorry for Sheehan, because she has given the ultimate sacrifice a mother can give, giving her own son for her country, while it still was the USA. This is much more than any Republican, neocon, armchair general, or right winger can ever do or understand. Being in the military is more than marching, saluting, and wearing a clean uniform. It means knowing you could "buy the farm" any time, any where and hope that if you do, you give your life for something worth while.
I ask all those supporting this war: IS THIS WAR REALLY WORTH IT? WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO OSAMA BIN LADEN? ISN'T HE THE GUY THAT ATTACKED THE FORMER USA?
Please explain your answers to all the mothers, wives, husbands, and children who have lost loved ones in Iraq. I am sure they would want to hear the answers.
In the meantime,

2) America hates you Cindy, there may be a few whackos left out there who would be stupid enough to commit treason against the united states. Also, when you sign up for the United States Military, any branch of service, they tell you beforehand that you might be killed, it is not a pretend Army, it is real. Terrorists are not pretend, they are real. The twin Towers fell and innocent people died, because religious zealots want us dead, that was real.
What is unreal is people like you who take everything from your country and give nothing to it, you bash everything our government has to say, slander our elected leaders, but, I will bet my bottom dollar you are going to want your social security check and medicare.
You, cindy , are a common piece of trash, good riddance.

- I'm sorry Cindy All you wanted was to ask Pres. Bush why!!! He wouldn't give any time to you it cost you everything to get that answered but he would not speak. Cost you $ 53000. to buy land next to his ranch. He could not talk to you, I am sorry you lost your son and all your money just for him to speak to you, but he didn't.

- Cindy,
Your fruitless effort to bring back your son was pointless from the start. The fact you were used by a group of liberals is not at all surprising. You gave up, not a surprise. You didn't accomplish a thing, and you should have known that from the start, but again, you were used and you're not very smart, which is obvious from your commentary. Not to fault the liberals alone, you're an idiot and obviously not a bright person at all from the start. You lost money, your husband, etc. Gee whiz, most people work for a living or have the means to by financial independence, but you however have taken advantage of your son%u2019s death and money you rec'd as an attempt for your own psychological being. In fact you should have been in therapy/counseling upon your son's death instead of using the media as an outlet for your cheap therapy. Nobody in there right mind supports you in your useless cause to bring back the memory of your son, nor do we care to see you on the front of our newspapers taking up valuable space since your time in the media has long expired
Visit your son%u2019s grave and tell him you love him and how you failed as a mother and not as a protester. If this does not register with you, it must mean you are totally worthless as a person, a parent or just a human being.

- "Why should we sacrifice our young men and women in a godforsaken place where they've been killing each other for 2000 yrs?" jerr11
Jerr11, that is an excellent and legtimate point you make. I have come to feel the same way. However, I have a difficult time thinking what would happen in the aftermath of an immediate withdraw. There are men, women and children whom would not be involved in a situation such as a civil war. Would it become a Darfur scenario, or have we decieved ourselves?
Yes, I am frustrated by the fact Iraq has difficulty embracing 'human rights', rights they never had under Saddam. I don't enjoy seeing our men and women killed while there are ungrateful people in Iraq. But hopefully there will be a greater good that ultimately comes out of all this.
We could have ignore France and England during the Great Wars, but did a good thing ultimately for our neighbors in the world.
But again, I do understand your frustrations... - Reply to this comment
- So what your saying is you have no concern whatsoever if Iraq fell into a civil war between the Sunnis and Shiite's? Pull our troops out and sit back while they slaughter each other? Who are you gonna place your bets on? Now there's a side of the left I've never seen.

Why should we sacrifice our young men and women in a godforsaken place where they've been killing each other for 2000 yrs?
But since the conservatives are so concerned for the welfare of these maniacs, I have the perfect solution.
We can send GW Bush there to referee the two warring groups. He created that whole mess, he can clean it up.
That's what accountability is all about. - Reply to this comment
- "I'm touched by your deep concern for the poor Iraqi's. Surely worth a few hundred more American lives, there being no other reason for our presence there. I love the way the returning soldiers, and their generation, will have to pay the wars costs, because of the debt. Way to stick-it-to, uh, I mean 'support' the soldiers!"

Re: "The President was given the power by Congress, including the senior Democrats, to go to Iraq."
Our Congress has no legitimate authority under our Constitution to abdicate their responsibility to decide matters of war, to the President, or to the Resident, as the case may be. Citing our Congresses failure in order to prop-up the mass-murderous Bush regime's war of aggression is a nonsensical excuse for failure.
It simply demonstrates that the unmistakable complicity of the Democrat Party ion this disgraceful mess. - Reply to this comment

It is amazing that 'another' boot licker posted a very similar argument to the idiotic one that you posted, at around the same time, on a neighboring thread! What are the odds?
See for yourself:

- At the very least this was a very naive -- arguably misguided -- woman who received a very large reality check.
Posted by Novitas at 05:08 PM : May 29, 2007
Very well put. I'm glad she realizes the problem lies with the entire Government. The President was given the power by Congress, including the senior Democrats, to go to Iraq. If someone gave their car keys to a drunk person, shouldn't you expect shared blame when that drunk kills someone with that car? - Reply to this comment
