- ******"... after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship ... Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." - Hermann Goering, Nazi leader

- The State of Alabama has proven once again that
The world is Flat
All democrats are weak and cave into other nations
All Republicans are war mongers
All Religions promote the destruction of others
Only my religion is the correct one
All that oppose the war are giving into the terrorist
All that support the war are neocons that have never served in the military
Israel creates all of the US problems
All Palestinians are terrorist
All Israelis want to wage war against the Palestinians
All Iranians want the destruction of the US and Israel
All Iranians are nice people there words are misunderstood
All Americans want to colonize the world
All Arabs want to colonize the world.
9-11 was a conspiracy planned by unnamed individuals to thrust the US into a war.
Howdy Doody was a great actor and very intelligent.
9-11 was a calculate move by all Muslims to overthrow the world.
The world is flat now once again. - Reply to this comment
- ......And thinking of our countries founding fathers, are they on the list too? Gonna disenture them to stand trial as terrorists? After all, you might as well do it to get to the root of all our dastardly terrorist ways you know......Man alive! Something is definitely wrong when patriots are afraid in their own country.

- Once again South Carolina thanks Alabama for taking us out of the "redneck spotlight," even if only momentarily.

- Why in the h&ll did we spend 4 years and 600,000 lives bringing the confederate states back into the Union? We should have let them go. Slavery was on its way out anyway.
(can't wait for the comments on this one):-) - Reply to this comment
- Does anybody here in blogsberg understand that they have just put nearly EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN in the terrorist box?.......You guys have got to be joking us! Who is the jackbooted profiler that made that policy? Another artificial problem trumpt-up by government to take away our first amendment rights for our own protection of course!

- Ugh.. doesn't help I just watched children of men last night. Movies that make you question your government lol. Oh no! I may have said too much already! They may ban the movie so we don't question our leaders! *gasps and hides*
On a serious side, stuff like this sickens me to know that people we vote in and put faith in just screw everything up. - Reply to this comment
- ah-ha. bush's insistence on waging a borderless and undefined "war on terror" rather than a more conventional or logical war on bin laden, or the taliban, or whomever begins to make a little more sense now. by being as vague as he was he's now opened the door for the definition of terrorist to mean just about anything. does this make alabama the stupidest state in the union, or the smartest for taking advantage of bush's war on, uh, whatever.

- Must be proud to be Alabama these days! to single out groups who don't believe the way you do and label them 'terrorist' must be the right thing to do, right George Wallace? .... i mean, Mr./Mrs. current governor of Alabama.
Oh, and the Reverend Phelps from the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas says he's proud that Alabama listed pro Gay groups as 'terrorist'.
Who's Reverend Phelps you ask? He's the leader of a group of anti-gay activists who protest at the funerals of soldiers from Iraq saying that America's love of *** has brought on the deaths of these soldiers. - Reply to this comment

I agree; however, unfortunately, our tax money goes to relief. - Reply to this comment
- Interesting that they didn't include the pro-life movement which is filled with apologists for medical clinic bombers. assassins of doctors. etc., or other right wing extremist political groups like the Klan. No, I'm not a liberal...just an American cocerned about the encroachment of government in every aspect of our lives.
This is particularly heinous political act and precisely why the gutting of the Constitution by the curent administration's "patriot act" is so dangerous. - Reply to this comment
- Hey, they got to spend that homeland security money on something. No matter how bizarre.

- Apparently anyone who disagrees with the US Government is a potential terrorist in Alabama - which I guess means we're all terrorists.
In another article Mr. Walker describes the list on his department's website as "an idiot's guide to terrorists".
I have to agree with that. I wonder how much time Mr. Walker spends reading the list? - Reply to this comment
- It is interesting that the article does not mention the Ku Klux Klan. If the definition of terrorist is a person or group that acts through fear and intimidation, I would certainly think the Klan would qualify. That would make them domestic terrorists.

- Well, I rescued myself from mythology and the belief that I, as a gay American, was somehow "bad". I have been living a happy, fulfilled life since 1995 when I came out. Prior to that I had been miserable.
Alabama really needs to join the 21st Century... - Reply to this comment
- I am pro-human, pro-life (unless the life of the mother is put into question), pro-nuclear (which is much cleaner than burning oil!), pro quality-of-life, and I understand the reasons for war and know when we need to do it.
If we are to feed the masses, we need genetically modified foods. With some regulation and care put into these things, it'll do no harm and a lot more good.
I am pro-environment in that I waste as little as possible.
So-called "environmentalists" who go about blowing up SUV or car dealers or sinking oil barges are not only hurting the environment, their actions do hurt other people too. Especially if you're caught in the blast zone. Want to be environmentally-friendly? Recycle and use things responsibly. Don't blow things up for self-righteous arrogance or anger. Duh.
And I rescued myself from the gay "lifestyle" a long time ago. Jeff Konrad wrote a terrific book about it.
I think the right people know who is out to cause trouble and who is not. - Reply to this comment
