President John F. Kennedy said it best......

"Today we need a nation of minute men; citizens who are not only prepared to take up arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as a basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom. The cause of liberty, the cause of American, cannot succeed with any lesser effort."
- President John F. Kennedy, January 29, 1961

As an Alabamian (and, no - not all of us are rednecks (all areas have their fair share of rednecks); to think so reveals a certain lack of sophistication), some of this does seem extreme.) But, I am not privy to all of the security information, so how can I judge? I do remember the tremors I felt underneath my feet, while walking to work, from the bomb set off by Eric Rudolph, that killed one and maimed another.

If they are setting bombs or stockpiling weapons of war, they are terrorists.

I don't care what cause they claim to follow. They can claim they are agents of God all they want. Or agents of the Devil, for that matter.

It's time the McVeigh's are put out of business, before another Murrah building happens.

O.k., enough of the depraved ignorance in this country. Billions of dollars destroying a country in the middles east needs to be diverted to educated a deteriorating society due to a complete lack of funding and will. Corporate america has heavily funded the school of business and dismissed the study of history as a waste of time.

Does anyone see the parallels of this occurrence in Alabama with any number dark, dismal periods in recorded history or has non-education become the norm and the lack there of clouded all ability to learn from the past?

Is anyone really surprised? Bush and others have used fear to get what they want. They skip facts, or at least ones that they do not want, and lie to Americans. But Bush and Republicans are NOT the only ones doing it. Democrats are just as guilty.

Between classifying someone as a terrorist or *** offender they have all the bases covered. (FYI - Did you know, according to the AWA guidelines, you can be put on the *** Offender Registry at the age of 14 or for touching an adult or child through their cloths, and that last part is undefined so any touching can be considered a crime?) Not to mention other things like spying on emails, phone calls, etc.

They got us good. Keep Americans scared and divided and you can do anything you want.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

ttenchantr: believe it or not, everyone from here isn't backwards and republican. My husband and I are raising our children as liberal agnostics. I hope the future generations of Alabamians can fix the mess all the old white rich men are making right now.

Bush regime makes move towards declaring near dictatorial control of all government and business afairs:

'President Bush, without so much as issuing a press statement, on May 9 signed a directive that granted near dictatorial powers to the office of the president in the event of a national emergency declared by the president.'
