Everyone knows there are 20 million ILLEGAL MEXICANS in this country, not to mention another 12 million illegals who were granted amnesty by Ronald Reagan in 1986. That's 32 MILLION ILLEGALS out of 44.3 million total hispanics.

And that's why there are TOO MANY ILLEGAL MEXICANS here in America and NOT ENOUGH LEGAL IMMIGRANTS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES.

No "everyone" does not know that there are 20 million illegals. Most estimates are between 10 and 12 million. I don't know how many were granted amnesty by Reagan, but it really doesn't matter since they are not illegal any longer. If there are 44.3 million Hispanics in the US and they're not counting illegals, then that means there are a total of about 55 million here total. If they are counting illegals then that means there are 44.3 million of which about 32 to 34 million are here legally, not illegally. Your math is flawed.

The keyword is INTEGRATION, whatever your original nationality. And that means learning English. Government documents, street signs, etc. should all be in English only. If people feel they can get by with their native language, then they will tend to isolate themselves in their own communities, and that creates division.

I have lived in Southern CA my entire life (47 years). The changes I have experienced have been drastic. My elementary school is now 98% Hispanic and less than 50% speak English. Hispanics DO NOT assimilate like other ethnicities!!!!! They do not value education like other ethnicities. CA is a very sad state with not enough money or infrastructure to support the influx of ILLEGAL aliens. The media has trouble using the word ILLEGAL but that is what they are. They broke the law and came into my state without permission!!!!!!!

Cinco History
The 5th of May is not Mexican Independence Day, but it should be! And Cinco de Mayo is not an American holiday, but it should be. Mexico declared its independence from mother Spain on midnight, the 15th of September, 1810. And it took 11 years before the first Spanish soldiers were told and forced to leave Mexico.

So, why Cinco de Mayo? And why should Americans savor this day as well? Because 4,000 Mexican soldiers smashed the French and traitor Mexican army of 8,000 at Puebla, Mexico, 100 miles east of Mexico City on the morning of May 5, 1862.

The French had landed in Mexico (along with Spanish and English troops) five months earlier on the pretext of collecting Mexican debts from the newly elected government of democratic President (and Indian) Benito Juarez. The English and Spanish quickly made deals and left. The French, however, had different ideas.

Under Emperor Napoleon III, who detested the United States, the French came to stay. They brought a Hapsburg prince with them to rule the new Mexican empire. His name was Maximilian; his wife, Carolota. Napoleon's French Army had not been defeated in 50 years, and it invaded Mexico with the finest modern equipment and with a newly reconstituted Foreign Legion. The French were not afraid of anyone, especially since the United States was embroiled in its own Civil War.
