I am not a supporter of this war and I do not vote republican but since we are engaged in this illegal war why didn't the President and his VP let the Generals in charge run the war instead of his VP along with D.Rumsveld which only proved to be disastor now we face a bigger threat from Iran but the American people lost confidence in this adminstration and I can not blame them It is sad those who claim to support our troops fail to support them when they return home and in need of treatment for both mental & physical disorders also it is a disgrace that the VA was giving bonus to employees who denied treat to our hero's so I understand I do not attack people who voted for Bush twice they would vote for Mickey Mouse if he was a republican and that hold true with some Democrats as well as to the Gentleman who is talking about Barack Obarma he will not get the nomination of the D. party it will be Hillirary who will run on the D. ticket as for the R ticket I can not predict it yet since the far right is looking under every rock and stone to replace both Rudy and Senator McCain as for me Sen McCain is my hero even though I disagree with him on the war in Iraq if he should get the R. nomination I will vote for him and I do not vote for Republican but he is worth my vote God Bless America and God Bless our troops and let kick the radical muslims azz

It's really a shame to see this happening. The one who needs a straight jacket and a muzzle is the mentally incompetent fool in charge. His attack dog holds the #2 seat. To call the low life an attack dog is too good for him. Why don't we the American people impeach the jerks and then charge them with war crimes. History will show that this mess was caused by a little man with a big ego that dodged the draft only to kill our children and grandchildren.

Well, is this anything unusual?? Don't forget it happened during and after Vietnam. And don't forget the number of military who came home from Vietnam with drug and alcohol problems!! It seems as though all any administration thinks of is the number of warm bodies they can send over to fight a war and then don't care when they come back with mental and/or drug problems.

What sealed U.S. military defeat in Iraq?

"...only a third of Marines and roughly half of soldiers said they believed that noncombatants should be treated with dignity."

Is this what Bush means by "support our troops"?

He couldn't give a sh*t.

"SamTheTVCat-it's ironic. That combined with the record setting number of amputees (most of which do NOT get reported to the media so the actual numbers are far higher than listed) due to our new and improved one armed tourniquets and body armor that doesn't cover amrs and legs makes for a miserable hoemcoming for a lot of vets."

Well, I guess it depends too on where you fall on the 2A/gun control debate . . . I mean I'd like to see a lot of other people restricted from gun licenses, but I think if the federal government knowingly deems people with mental illnesses well enough to be redeployed back to Iraq with a government issued gun then I think it's more than just ironic that they would then be deprived of their gun and their 2A right upon their return home, I find it immoral. I mean I wouldn't want to see soldiers come home and do something violent, but this is just so wrong to limit them while people like lars008 still have their rights (I think?). Treatment should be the priority, not depriving those who are thrust into situations outside the normal range of healthy human experience of the rights everybody else including the stupid, the careless, and the ignorant.
