Cable Network Responds To Growing Outrage By Dropping Simulcast Of "Imus In The Morning"
- Don Imus was a big enough man to apologize.
Will Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will be big enough men to apologize to these innocent Duke boys for the false accusations and presumptions they stirred up in Durham, NC.
I won't be holding my breath.

- Like I said, Imus is an old drunk. And old drunks say, and do stupid sh*t. His brain is pickled. He probably has organic brain disease by now.
Throw him in rehab where they will pickle his brain on prescription antidepressants, and psych drugs. And he will be less trouble. - Reply to this comment
- First of all, when are the Black people going to get over what happened hundreds of years ago. Secondly, how can you b**** and moan about the comment made by Imus, when on a daily basis I hear black people make very rude, racist comments about white people. Not only do black people as a whole call eachother worse the just "nappy-headded ho", but they spew vile hatred about white people and no one takes their shows off the air. I never watched Imus so I don't know what previous show have been like, but I know that this is not big enough for him to get fired over. To all black people that read this....Does it feel good to know that you now have almost complete control over the country? I think the ones that are mad about the comment he made needs to toughen up and stop being such whiney babies. And tell me this...how can it be justified that there are colleges just for black people, scholarships just for black people, organizations just for black people, government funding just for black people...If white people had a that it would be riots in the streets. The colleges would be burned down. You know, what he said was rude and uncalled for, but it wasn't racist. Definately not as bad as what is said about whites by blacks. Let's play fair about this for God's sake. I truly hope that CBS has a backbone and doesn't buckle under pressure like MSNBC did.

Bush and Chaney - Higher percentage of military personnel committing suicides, and suffering severe mental, and emotional damage than in any wars in the history of the US.

- That's it! MSNBC & NBC and all of the other stations or sponsors are weak kneed and spineless for bowing to pressure from all of these political groups. Yes, racist, political groups. While, I'm totally opposed to what Imus said, because it was dead wrong, it is still no reason for him to lose his job. What about Howard Stern (another shock jock), rappers (white and black - denigrate women of any race including their own) , and the "REVERENDS" themselves (Jesse, a baby with someone other than his wife. He said that he was sorry. Al, what was her name? T. Brad...something?) that continually do and say vile and discusting things that they shouldn't? Would the same thing happen to someone who said something about a White, Asian, French, or Japanese person? You know the answer would be a BIG NO! Have a backbone and quit bowing to these political groups that just want to make headlines and get another paycheck. People have said worse things about me but I didn't let it 'ruin the rest of my life'. That's life and someone ran their mouth. So, rise above it and go on. If that's all it takes to bring them down for 'the rest of their life' then maybe all of these people that are raising cane should be in theapy.

- It%u2019s particularity ironic that in same week in which the Imus controversy explodes, TV1 is replaying the epic saga Roots. I watched it last night, and it was eerie to watch that themes overt racism that took place then, though evolved, is still happening now.
During Imus%u2019 suspension, I challenge the networks responsible for allowing him to spew his racist virus on the airways, to inject an antibiotic of the truth behind contemporary issues inflicting African Americans. By replaying the docudrama, America will again be exposed to the %u201Croot%u201D of the problem, which was never dealt with----and today we are witness to the repercussions of suffering hundreds of years of every kind of abuse.
When will America understand that hundreds of years of physical, mental, verbal and sexual abuse has consequences?
Why are the effects of abuse legitimate for every other victim and not for Black Americans? - Reply to this comment
- I did not watch Imus every morning and missed the show where he made this comment. I do not condone what he said and think it was a joke made in very poor taste. He should be punished, but I don't believe he should lose his job. He has apologized and pledged to make things better in the future. He should have that chance.
I am very disappointed that MSNBC and their advertisers have bowed to the threats of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, two men who make their living by crying racism. Why don't they have pickets and protesters in front of record labels that produce rap music with lyrics using the same phrase that Imus used, only with "MF" usually inserted? Why don't they threaten radio stations and their advertisers that play those rap CDs? This is not about improving the content of programs on the airways as they said on MSNBC this morning. This is about playing the race card yet again. - Reply to this comment
- CBS IS DISGRACEFUL. CBS continued support of Don Imus is disgraceful. Imus should have been suspended after calling the judge who refused to let his wife Deidre out of jury duty a drunk, but now is the time to terminate Imus. There are to be no place on the public radio for a group of bitter old men who spend their mornings insulting women and minorities. I wish I had a dollar for everytime Imus has grounded his political critcism in the age or physical appearance of some female candidate. This says more about those who run CBS and WESTWOOD ONE that it does about IMUS---One might call CBS abd Westwood HO's.

- This man's entire show is about hate, half-truths' innuendoes and gossip, mixed in with large doses of propaganda. Why do you think politicians love to go on his show?
The man is a racist and even his apologies sound racist. The world is getting too small for people like him to be allowed to stir up hatred and ignorance this is not what a free speech is about. - Reply to this comment
