What a sorry bunch of sad, sad human beings running CBS. Hey CBS, if you care, look at the comments here and see the overwhelming support for Imus. Sure he said a stupid remark and deserved to be taken to task for it. But to succumb to the likes of Sharpton and Jackson and fire Imus was the wrong decision.

I just get so tired of hearing things about how the whites {this time Imus} do things against African Americans. I don't really like him one way or the other he did something wrong, said something wrong and he deserves to be "punished" not fired!!C-mon other cultures put down my race and others how many people do you see get fired..I have walked down the street and hear African Americans talking to each other calling themselves N%#ger but if a white person did it then all hell would break loose....
Bring someone to me who was mistreated 100 years ago and even though I had NOTHING to do with it they would have my utmost respect.
BUT!!Racism is not just something that White people do against Black people..
Racism can take place between any two cultures which are different and can be based on color, religion or origin.
Americans.........That is what we are I do not believe in slavery that happened well before my time and I am tired of being blamed for it..... History is history ......
I like and love people for who they are not the color of the skin....pass it on!!!
What is Racism?
Racism is discriminating against a person or a group of people because they belong to a different race or culture.
I am so tired of the White/Black thing!! Imus needed to be punished NOT fired Blacks can say ANYTHING they want about whites or any race but if someone makes a mistake to them they raise an uproar....
A mans career is ended because of this.......crazy

If this is the worse thing that ever gets said to these gals in their lifetime, then they'll be in good shape. What a tempest in a teapot! I have had an African American attendant at a fast food drive-thru call me a "white ho" for asking for more ice in my iced tea. I patiently explained to her that the word was ***, not ho, and that the correct spelling was ***, not ***. Really, shouldn't it be whos, not hos? I was not offended by her use of this racial remark. It only ran through my mind that if I was someones "ho", I might not have to be waiting in a drive-thru line getting breakfast on my way to work at a public school where I'm underpaid, underappreciated, and generally treated not much better than a "ho". The things people make a news story about!. These ladies will probably go on to play in the WNBA and make more money in one game than I make after 27 years of teaching America's children. Get over yourselves!

This is the last time I will logon to CBS,and anybody else who succumbs to the likes of Sharpton and J Jackson. Not because I support Imus for what he said, but when when AD revenue becomes more important than standing up for what is right in this world, those of us who care about what is right for all people should stand up. Imus has done positive things for Children, Blacks and whites alike, and I suspect he will continue to do so. If only Jackson and Sharpton would protest outside the headquarters of the corporations and on the media that they love so much about Darfur, or child labor overseas, we might see some real progress in this world other than the chest pounding and self promoting behaviour we see out of these two.

What a shame that IMUS will no longer be on the air. CBS has made a terrible mistake because IMUS has been great for many of us by allowing us to laugh at ourselves and we all know how important humor is for us all. Over the years what I have learned about politics and politicians(from all sides) I have learned on his show.
Yes, what he said was wrong but I am good Christian woman and I can forgive, as should others who proclaim that they are Christian. Those throwing stones should look more closely at their own.............miss you already Don...

I am appalled at the firing of IMUS for a remark that was poorly said, but in context with the nature of the show. Freedom of speech and the desire to be politically correct is taking a toll on our country (to the betterment of none). For Al Sharpton (on T. Brawley "fame") to be deemed a leader of decency and spokesman for blacks is disgusting! Shame on CBS and MSNBC!!!!

Today was the last day that I tuned in to CBS. The good that Don Imus does for all the people in this country far out weighs anything done by any of his critics. On a continuum, the positive outweighs any negative. I hope he doesn%u2019t give up his works; all of us will be impacted negatively.
I am not an activist, although I have a few causes: I don%u2019t eat veal, I don%u2019t buy Nike products, and I won%u2019t own a diamond. There are many causes for which I could advocate but these issues touched me. This issue, though, has made me angrier than I have been in a long time. I don%u2019t condone his comments but I know what to expect with Don. Many times I shake my head and think %u201Cyou jerk.%u201D Don is an equal opportunity offender and pokes fun at all of us. He is not a racist; he has a persona as a cranky old man. Those that listened to Don that morning knew it was a stupid comment and did not take him seriously. Maybe the occasional listener doesn%u2019t understand that. I am disappointed at all the fair- weather friends that have shown their true colors. Anyone who has listened to Don and understands his heart wouldn%u2019t hesitate for a second to give him their support.
I will not view shows on NBC, buy products from Staples, Bigelow Tea, or P&G. I will be mindful of those who withdrew their support in a time of need. I understand that I don%u2019t matter to organizations that I have listed, but this is my way of making a statement.

I do not listen to Imus in the morning, but I amsaddened by all that has occured! I do not agree with the firing of Imus!! I have seen many people misuse the system! I think this is just another case of that! MANY people in our society say things about the white people, but you don't see us doing anything about it! I think it is a total shame that in this country, the land of the free, we are not so free! We must pay close attention to what we say & do in fear that someone will say are actions are a sign of racism. When is this madness going to end??

I think this CBS has made a BIG MISTAKE canceling the Don Imus show. If it were a black man or woman who made the same comments, NOTHING would have happened to him or her. When is our country going to stand up and fight back. I can't stand this racism ***. No wonder everyone jumps on the bandwagon because we are stupid to allow it to happen. Why in the hell would you fire a person, comedian high profile news caster over a ridiculous comment. Get over it already. Noone was hurt just maybe their ego a little hurt. Who the hell are Jackson, Sharpton, and Oprah. They are only people just like us. Why should their opinion count. They are NOT PERFECT!!!! Oprah jumping in and having the girls on her TV show. HOw stupid. What are they going to talk about their hurt feelings!!!! This country needs to focus on important issues. The person who wrote about the lyrics to hip hop and rap is absolutely right. But I guess the black making front of their own calling them hos and much much worse is ok. All I ever here is all about black racism and the government and corporations giving in to them. WHY. They are no different then us, they just make a big issue because they can becuase noone will stand up and tell them to SHUT UP!!!! RE-EVALUATE YOUR STANCE ON DON IMUS -

I believe that CBS should be ashamed of itself for canceling the Don Imus show. If it were a black man or woman who made the same comments, NOTHING would have happened to him or her. Jackson, Sharpton, and everyone else is hopping on the bandwagon. Maybe they and you should stop and look at the radio stations you own and the music you play (i.e. the wrap and hip-hop, that does nothing but disrespect women by calling them "ho's, ***, ***" and other derogatory comments made in these songs. RE-EVALUATE YOUR STANCE ON DON IMUS - DONB'T MAKE HIM A "SCAPE GOAT" BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE THE GUTS TO STAND-UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT!!!!!!!!

Where is the Justice? Done Imus fired, yet Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Rosie O'Donnell have said and done MUCH worse than a few comments in bad taste? Those individuals are allowed to say and do what they do, yet Don Imus violates the rules of taste and apologizes and is made an example of in the liberal media. Al Sharpton makes a living out of bringing down Freedom of Speech, The First Amendment, and the rest of the US Constitution that he is given a pass and a soap box to which he can continue his tirade of the White Man and America. Again, where is the Justice?

"I wish CBSNEWS would run a survey poll to see what the American People think about if Mr.Imus should have been fired after he apologized on national Television."

They did and the last time I saw it on their website it had 65,000 votes +/- with The American People saying no at a 60% to 40% vote. Unscientific of course. Only people with the ability to click a mouse and shop at a store or car dealer.

Please CBS, don't fall victim to short term shallow pressures. Keep Imus on the air, He is a great pleasure for many of us by allowing us to laugh at ourselves and we do need humor in these times.

I trust Bruce Gordons "zero tolerence" will apply to Sharpton, Jackson and all others who use the airways to push their agenda of hate. I did not see this "moral outcry" when Tawana Brawley was in the news. It is not too late to exact the same pound of flesh that Sharpton is looking for, from him for his attacks on Mr. Pagano.

Sharpton acts like a moral authority, does anyone remember TAWANA BRAWLEY? Sharpton never apologized to Mr. Pagano for slandering him with his vicious LIES. Imus has done everything possible to make amends but the likes of Sharpton keeps looking for that lb. of flesh! The very station that has fired Imus must now stop Sharpton from "using the airways" to push his agenda. Sharpton should have been fired years ago from the airways for his constant stirring of the pot of hate. Imus said an insensitive stupid hateful thing, but it is but a snap shot in a life that has HELPED more people than we all know of. What, pray tell has Sharpton ever done to HELP others? I hope that CBS has more of a backbone than MSNBC has displayed, and not give in to the likes of Sharpton. MSNBC claims "employee concerns" triggered their decision, yes, sure the $$$$$ had nothing to do with it. God help us all.

Imus has always been a train wreck waiting to happen and his audience is like those who go to the motor speedways to watch for the firey crash. Well, this time Imus hit the brick wall again and it's not the first time. Back in the 70's he was sentenced to Cleveland for violating radio standards and now he's losing sponsors for hurting others with his wreckless driving by falling asleep at the wheel. He has pushed the envelop and has wrecked once again.

I have been listening to Imus almost obsessively addictively for a long time and I have just realized that I was waiting for this phony *** to hit the wall again. I know because I am greatly relieved that he is getting his comeupance. Now, I have to figure out why I took this abuse so long...Oh well onward and upward.

Say goodnight Imus...Good night, Imus!!!

I posted a comment yesterday and could not find it, so here goes again.
I think Don Imus is a victim of a bad choice, that's all, we all make mistakes, I walk around the malls and the streets of philadelphia and I hear black people saying a lot worse things to each other but as soon as a white person says it look out the race card is drawn and mr. sharpton sharp mouth comes running down the street to cry wolf again. I'm sick of the NAACP and their bull and I'm sick of all the blacks that cry wolf and the white race is an outlaw to society. I don't and never owned slaves so don't pull your tricks on the white race we are getting sick of being the outlaws in this race oriented world.
