I WATCHED REV FARICON GIVE A SPEECH ON TV. HE KEPT SAYING "CRACKER" THROUGHT THE SPEECH. WHY ARE WE NOT MAKING A BIG ISSUE OUT OF THAT? WHY IS IT OK FOR BLACK PEOPLE TO SLAM EVER OTHER RACE, BUT WHEN ONE LITTLE AND I MEAN LITTLE THING IS SAID ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE IT BEACUSE NATIONAL NEWS? I THOUGHT WE HAD FREE SPEECH? I GUESS THAT ONLY PERTAINS TO CERTAIN RACES.

Enough is enough. Some radio personality spouts lwss than 15 seconds of trash and he is whipped by press and TV for days on end. It's similar to the Anna Nicole Smith lunacy.

In order to keep up with the news I have to purchase a foreign newspaper, listen to the BBC and DW and read my local rag.

We have two wars going on and people are dying in Darfur and yet we waste time on cosmically insignificant things. We seem to have lost all sense of proportion.

FUBU is economic self-help, not racism.

Unless "Domino's Pizza," "Irish Spring" and "Manischewitz Kosher Wines" are racist as well.

It's being reported this morning that Proctor and Gamble has withdrawn all their advertising from MSNBC's daytime programming (more than $500,000 worth to Imus's show alone). Staples Office Supply and Miralus Healthcare have apparently done the same. Good for them! I applaud you and hope more companies do what's right and add their name to this list.

"FUBU is a major line of sportswear and the company of the same name. The name has acquired a backronym of "For Us By Us" since its inception (referring to black people), although in its initial year of conception was regarded as meaning "five urban brothers united" as evidenced by their clothing tags.

However, anyone of any race can now be seen wearing FUBU."

THIS IS THE BIGGEST DISTRACTION FROM REAL ISSUES IN THE NEWS TODAY!

THESE LADIES HAVE HAD MORE ATTENTION PLAYING THE RACE CARD THAN THEY EVER WILL IF THEY WOULD HAVE WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP! WHAT IS THAT TEACHING THEM NOW THAT THEY ARE ALL VICTIMS?

Then the Media gives space to Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton who have never held a real job in their lives getting rich on playing the GETTO RACE CARD. When will the focus be on a person%u2019s content of their character instead of their race? People make money by keeping Race in the forefront of the news. Would the Legislative Black Caucus have a job if everyone were called Americans that lived here? To make a living from dredging up race issues is a disservice to all those who actually endured the hardship. I myself will not accept the hate, guilt, or be held accountable for the transgressions of people who claimed to be wronged by people before my Grandfather was born. Don%u2019t push your opinions on the rest of us. If you want to that is on you but don%u2019t expect me or millions of others to accept your guilt trip. Make your life based on your abilities if you can, not clinging to the sorrows of hundreds of years past in hopes of explaining your own weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings! Take responsibilities for your own actions and choices quit trying to blame your problems on how others were treated!

On another note, by continuing to keep this in the headlines does nothing but "FUEL THE FIRE" on both sides. Exactly the same as happened 4/4/68 in Memphis after MLK was assassinated. Fortunatly, riots haven't broken out yet.

Having lived in Memphis all of my life, I find that it is ok for a Black person to say ANYTHING about another Black person or anyother race and YOU BETTER NOT SAY A WORD TO THEM OR ABOUT IT OR YOU ARE A RACIST.. but if a White person says anything or calls them anything but "African-American" you are ALWAYS accused of being racist. Well, factually, I am Scotch-Italian- German-American... so should I be offended to be called a White or Honkie by them as so often happens ? Blacks are the biggest racists that there are around here in the south.

There is no excuse for Imus's comment. These young women worked hard on the court and in the classroom to excel. To be demeaned by an arrogant bigot who sits on his butt and disparages others for a lot of money is immoral. Nappy...etc is his N-word. He might as well have called them N_____ Ho's. Dump him. He is trash.

Imus is a self-aggrandizing bigot. He can claim to be a good man until Death Valley becomes an ice arena, but good, virtuous men don't belittle others. His show is not about comedy; his alleged comedic comments are used as a vehicle to spew vitriol while hiding behind constitutional rights. If our country is fortunate enough, we will have fewer good men like Don Imus.

kailumego1, I've really enjoyed talking with you tonight, but I MUST get some rest- Work tomorrow. I look forward to chatting with you again in the near future; maybe we can work out some things together between ourselves anyway, and THAT at least is a start, no matter how small. Goodnight, and good luck!

It's not about race, it's about the individuals that tried out and their skills.

I find it ludicrous that in reviewing the news stories on another network's web page in an attempt to respond to the Imus story, I noticed a news line regarding Snoop Dog being charged with gun and drug crimes. How does a black leader feign outrage at a talk-jock making a tasteless joke while giving the really bad role models for the black youth a pass. The outrage of hypocrites like Sharpton and Jackson is a joke. Rappers who promote violence against women, police and others or these sports stars who commit crimes and numerous bad acts pose a real danger to the black community. One can turn to BET or comedy central anytime you want to hear a black comedian belittling whites and yes, even blacks . I don't take it seriously and I don't get offended. Maybe everyone needs to loosen up a little. Imus has appologized. Where's all that good Christian forgiveness.

George,
Hopefully, for society's sake, you are a only child, that is asexual, and hopes to stay that way and never produce, because you sir, are truly ignorant. And that was just proved by your response. Good night. Have a wonderful day tomorrow!
