KILL WHITEY!"

Wait! Wait! Don't tell me. Is it a rap lyric from Ice-Cube? The Bro on "Law & Order." Or a line from 50 Cent's "Get Rich or Die Trying"?

For the record Imus is about as boring as it gets for radio -the media is enjoying a free pass much to Imus bad luck in the middle of a "no real news week". %u201CNappy headed%u201D means messy hair to me I don%u2019t get the %u201Cracist%u201D part. Stevie Wonder's lyrics from %u201CI wish%u201D reference a nappy headed boy: now is he saying that is one of those words %u201Cthey%u201D can say, but %u201Cwe%u201D can%u2019t? (in my opinion, racism in itself) or is he saying (as I took it to mean) a little boy with messy hair as in what your hair may look like after taking a nap %u2013 I%u2019ve referred to my own hair as %u201Cnappy%u201D when I had a bad hair day. As for %u201Cho%u201D %u2013 In my opinion, and as I have heard it used by many young people, is a generalized definition for girls not liked by their peers it%u2019s turned into a general word to indicate that they don%u2019t like anything about her and not a shortened version of "***".We should be appalled by two chains that promote an indication that women with big boobs should serve men who drink beer (%u201CHooters%u201D and %u201CMugs and Jugs%u201D) just what does the slogan %u201Cnobody goes to Hooter%u2019s for wings%u201D mean anyway? Why does Jackson gets to say %u201Chymie-town%u201D & can still pontificate over Imus%u2019 actions? I had a black teacher in high school who said %u201Cit takes a racist to recognize a racist%u201D%u2026hmm.

Both Jackson and Sharpton are Reverends. Many consider this vocation a job.

Reverend isn't a job description, It is an OPINION about one's character. It is misused daily; NO ONE is "A" REVEREND, They Might be addressed as "The Reverend So and So" but it is inaccurate to call one's self "A REVEREND" The term means "revered" or well respected. NO ONE IS "A REVEREND".

I just looked up "Jessie" Jackson on Wikipedia:

"This article is about the soap opera character. For the American civil rights activist, see Jesse Jackson [link to another article]."

Whoops.

"Was Jesse Jackson fired for using the racist phrase "hymietown"??? " processor2

Fired from what, by whom ?

He founded Operation PUSH.

The day the Trump Corporation fires Donald Trump, will be the day Operation PUSH fires Jessie Jackson.

Your analogy doesn't make sense.

As a woman, Rosie naturally gets more of a "pass" than a man would. Reverse discrimination, I know, but that's the way it is.

Rosie also mocked Chinese people recently, and all she had to do was offer a perfunctory apology.

Recently she said that the British hostages taken by Iran amounted to another "Gulf of Tonkin," that it was deliberate on the part of the British.

If he would've said anything about the frizzy haired girls....would've the whites made such a fuss. When they stop doing the RAP songs calling them all kinds of nasty names, they can be offended. Are they offended when their own race calls them names?

Imus gets a two week suspension and calls from women all over the US that he should be fired for his recent comments because they are racist and derogatory to women. He has apologized but still is suspended and the anger continues to grow.

Rosie insults our military and US Government by suggesting that they were responsible for 911, that our own people killed 3000 people in the towers in New York and on two additional planes. She does not get phone calls from millions of people demanding she be fired she does not get suspended. What she gets is more viewers.

Does anyone else see anything wrong with this picture?

Good for Rudy Giuliani. The day he appears on Imus's show, which is his right, he's lost a vote. (Which is MY right!)

Rudy Giuliani is ready to forgive and forget:

"Giuliani also said he would appear on his radio show again, since he believed Imus was sorry for his comments about the team. "He seems sincerely sorry about it and he seems like someone who will endeavor not to do that again and I'll take him at his word," Giuliani said. "And assume that he sticks to that, which I have no reason to believe he wouldn't, I would appear on his show."

What was Giuliani's reaction to Jesse Jackson's public apology for "Hymietown" ? I couldn't find it on the Internet.

Bigelow Tea Company said Tuesday they were ending their relationship with Imus. Cindi Bigelow, the company's co-president, said in a statement. "Bigelow Tea is a family company that prides itself on honoring and respecting all individuals."

Congratulations to Bigelow Tea, another great company with a conscience!

When this first broke, even though I don't listen to Imus, I came out in his defense. He's an idiot and says a lot of really stupid things, but everyone is entitled to tell a joke, even if it's a bad one.
After reading some of the comments here, I have to retract my defense, since it's obvious that racism is rampant and there are too many people that came to his defense for the wrong (racist) reasons. It is even more disconcerting that "fredom of speech" is used to defend him. Freedom is not for free, and comes with a huge degree of responsibility. Just because it is my right to say anything in public, does not mean everything that is said is right. This is clearly wrong and until others wake up and see their own culpability in the constant racial tensions in this country, public figures with a bully pulpit SHOULD be ignored and ridiculed.

It's being reported this morning that Proctor and Gamble has withdrawn all their advertising from MSNBC's daytime programming (more than $500,000 worth to Imus's show alone). Staples Office Supply and Miralus Healthcare have apparently done the same. Good for them! I applaud you and hope more companies do what's right and add their name to this list.

"Then the Media gives space to Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton who have never held a real job in their lives getting rich on playing the GETTO RACE CARD. When will the focus be on a person%u2019s content of their character instead of their race?" Posted by bluestardad

Both Jackson and Sharpton are Reverends. Many consider this vocation a job. Additionally, they do radio shows, provide paid consultations for business, etc. In short, they do hold "real jobs".

As to the comment about looking at ones character rather than their race, I couldn't agree more. It is the whole idea about the racist comments that Don Imus made that brought this whole house of cards down on him. It is not like he wasn't warned about this years ago. So it is now time that it all comes back to him. Don should know better. If he loses his job as a result of this, it will be one positive step to start to get all such persons who spout such racist beliefs.

It's absolutely disgusting that Imus is still allowed his air time each morning surrounded by his little group of yes men and the same old tired call-in suckups to try (feebly) to redeem himself and erase his record of being bigoted and mean. Money still rules over right in the world of corporate greed. You're not kidding anyone, Imus. We see through it.
