Be careful in calling for one's head to roll
YOU could be next! If you say or do anything I find offensive. Whether or not we find the words Don used poorly choosen, we still have the right of FREE SPEACH. For thoes who call themselves CHRISTIANS be ware GOD is watching your actions in forgiving or not another human beiing. Any of us at any moment can say or do stupid things but in saying sorry and forgivness we move on to a higher plain,or shall we remain a group of neanderthauls.

It seems most everyone black, white, yellow, red, whatever, all know how Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson put bread and butter on their tables. The media will milk this for all they can and so will Sharpton and Jackson. I refuse to call them Reverends, real Reverends would be calling for forgiveness not a rope.

If you look at all the good the I-Man does at the Ranch that he "Imus" does to help sick kids have a great time for a couple weeks at the Imus Ranch at his expence. If your going to judge the bad in a person then by-god look at the good they do also. To me his good outweighs the bad. Words are cheap, deadication takes hard work. Anyone that will help the sick and the poor is what we need more of,not just some more cheap words spoken by Sharpton's of the world..

I don't know about the rest of you but I was stunned and shocked when I found out Al Sharpton even had a radio show. (Jay Leno 4-9-07)

Why is everyone making this a race issue?? NOTHING was said about blacks in general. Maybe racist against women but not just blacks. Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson need to keep out of this. All they do are make things worse. They are two of the biggest racists around. All they do is cause more friction when it doesnt need to be that. I understand that the remarks Imus made were not necessary BUT--ENOUGH ALREADY! Im sure these girls are not going to be scarred for life- He apologized, he is suspended (which i think is crazy) It was just a joke (in poor taste) This does not have to be such a huge deal, or a racist thing. Blacks need to stop pulling out the racist card for EVERY LITTLE THING!!! GET OVER IT AND GET OVER YOURSELVES!

I don't agree with names or stereotypes at all. The fact that a white man said it about a black woman, that is everyone's issue here. Why is it okay for black comedians to make jokes that are offensive to white people but if a white comedian does it, it has to be racist? I personally would not say what he said and I thought the comments were extremely insulting. These rude and vulgar comments are said by all races. The problem with that is if I get offended by Chris Rock saying white people can't dance or making fun of the way we walk or talk,I feel I don't have the right to say anything. It does not work both ways!

It has been reported that the state of Illinois was and is quite corrupt when it comes to justice for black people.

I would like to know when and what Barack Obama knew about all the injustice in Illinois and what he did to correct it while a Senator in that State for eight years.

I also would like to know what Sharpton has to say about one of the brothers (so to speak) on this issue.

I think the comment made by Imus was not racist in that the Rutgers team has both black and white players. He didn't single out the black players in his off color comment. However, I do think that the comment was insulting to women in general. I just hope that he stops refering to women as "hos". Can't imagine his son hearing his father call his mother "The Green Ho".... Actually Bernard McGuirk has the worst mouth on the Imus Show....Imus often follows McGuirk's lead.

Who cares when there are so many more important issues? Let the network do what they want. Let the advertisers do what they want. Let the listeners do what they want. I can't stand Imus. He is slow, old, and lame. Maybe I just offended him? Does he park in a handicap spot?

Meanwhile, Islamic extremists plot to kill us all and take over the world in the name of their God (so they have their own? I don't think so - He is the same as everyone elses). Which in itself is food for thought... We aren't arguing about God, we are in a war about God's messenger.

Is it Muhammed or Jesus? Is it both? Or, is it Bobby at Walmart? Maybe all of us should be parked in a handicapped spot...

Obama for President 2008.

I think this entire situation regarding Mr. Imus makes black people seem as if we (black people) are more given to imbecility than other people. If we are so wounded by the "reprehensible" comments Mr. Imus made, I expect that we will soon cease with living completely due to the comments made by so many blacks about other blacks. Many of these comments are replete with misogyny, misology, misanthrophy, etc.. I'm a black woman whose not deficient in intelligence. I do not find comments made by white people any more ghastly than the comments made by black people. I actually find this entire situation to be sickening.I hope all just-minded people will see this for what it really is; maddening hypocrisy. Veronica-Longmont,CO.

As A DJ, I am more sensitive to the reality that we have a responsibility to our listeners. Don Imus has skipped responsibility in a quest to be quirky. I'm not going to accept a quick trip through verbal rehab as making him a new man. There is absolutely no room for comments such as the Rutgers defamation. What audience is he playing to with such comments? The Arian Nation? Nazi America? KKK? Fire the jerk, and put that Rutgers Basketball Coach in his place. She is far more eloquent in her 15 minutes of fame than everything Imus has ever said. There is no room in America for people who are still mulling over the racial inequity question. We all speak from the heart, no matter what philanthropy we perform to excuse the dark parts of our minds. Im very white, and very mad.

Would everyone be up in arms if he had said, white cracker hos???????
Yes, what he said was horrible...NO, excuse...But our society has gone way over the edge when it comes to comments from any announcers, but only if it's against anyone other than white people...................................

I remember Mr. Imus when I was a young girl and he was working on a local radio station known as KUTY,.....I liked him then and I like him now. He speaks what many folks only think. Yes, he may have gone too far, but he has made an apology and gotten time off, but I'm sure if the roles were reversed, it would not be made out to be such a big deal. You still have my respect Mr. Imus

The old days are gone. All that is left is to allow, "Reverends" the opportunity to profit from and perpetuate improper words. Al and Jessie, as "Reverends" need to check the bible on forgiveness. The black community needs to tell these counterfit blood suckers to shut up or use their proper name only if they cannot stop spreading hate and discontent. Imus has done about all he can do to say he is sorry and it was wrong. How soon we forget about the good honerable Imus and his humanitarian efforts these past 30+ years. I want Jessie and Al to tell us they are not guilty of similar or worse. I think Jessie can start with the Jewish community and work from there. What ever happened to, " Let he without sin cast the first stone" ?

Let me understand something:

According to the article, the show's producer came out and called the women ho's before Imus did.

""Some hardcore hos," McGuirk said.

"That's some nappy-headed hos there, I'm going to tell you that," Imus said."

So since I don't hear anything about this McGuirk getting on the hot seat, it must be the 'nappy-headed' bit that sent Sharpton over the edge.

Sharpton, ole buddy, you need a date with Tawana. I'm white, and there are times I'm nappy-headed. Get a life.

I feel Rev. Sharpen calls himself a Rev. but never forgives anyone. only his own people. He should be taken care of his own people who make this records like the rapers(music). He is also very much against white people himself. So I think he should look deep into himself and ask God's forgiveness. I am not saying that what Imus did was right. But Rev.Sharpen is no better himself. If a Black person did that on radio , he wouldn't care.

I feel that Don Imus should be fired for his racist attitudes as well as his comments. I also was extremely dissappointed by a Black female representative of the Black broadcasters association who appeared on the CBS Morning Show and skirted the question posed by Harry Smith dealing with the issue. He asked her, why when rap music contains the same "whoa" references, do we not find that equally as offensive as when Don Imus, a white man uses them. She more or less left me with the understanding that it is okay for a black man to show disrespect for women and that no white person can do the same. She was given two chances to answer the question and I hoped that she would say that neither was acceptable, but didn't.
I don't feel that we should have two standards here. Referring to any woman as a "Whoa" is not acceptable to me and she should have said the same instead of acting like it would minimize her comments about Imis.
