- "Mr. Bush said illegal immigrants should not be given amnesty and would have to pay a fine and meet other criteria before they could apply for U.S. citizenship."
What about a fine for businesses hiring illegal immigrants ? That might be highly effective ... but
maybe against the philosophy of this administration

The Washington Post on Friday said the report, which had been issued in summary
form in February, drew on "captured Iraqi documents" and "interrogations of
Saddam Hussein and two former aides" which "all confirmed" that Saddam and al
Qaeda were not working together prior to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. THERE

- How much employers pay is a function of profit based upon what people will pay...How much do you all want to pay for your food if you don't "want" the job?

It actually equates to $ .06 per pound in the tomato sector. - Reply to this comment
- Illegal immigrants are costing this country an estimated $100 BILLION per year in social services, plus untold $$$ for language accomodation, driving wages down for working class Americans and adversly effecting our society in general.
The government should offer a bounty for each illegal that is turned in to officials... say $1000. Then let's say we spend $1000 shipping them home.
It would then cost $40 BILLION to rid our country
20 MILLION law-breakers. - Reply to this comment
