I have immigration reform:

1) Enforce the freakin' laws already on the books
2) Go after the people who employ them. Make the penalties so harsh they would lose their shirts if caught.
3) Round up the ones who don't voluntarily go back and put them in jail.
4) No CITIZENSHIP for your bambinos born here if YOU are here illegally.

This is a big bunch of BS``````````

A surprisingly direct statement that Bush thinks it's OK to sell our country. Yeah, all you have to do is pay enough money, and you can break any law - even moving here illegally is fine if you've got the cash!

Scott4261 once again you explained it exactly right read his post 3:02p.m. I wish I could not let my anger at all this Pres. has done get in the way of true logic I apologize to all but glad I got it out probably will vent my anger again I think he's doing this to bring up another divided issue and make the new congress look bad. There is something behind this I tell you. Where has he been on this issue?

Allowing illegal immigrants the right to say here and work IS allowing them to break the law and be rewarded for it. We must secure our borders, deport all illegals, prosecute companies that hire illegals and enforce our laws. Our elected officials do not care about American citizens or the illegal immigrants. They only care about the money!

We cant enforce the simple laws we have against illegal immigration now, what makes anybody think we need more ?

Brings the troops home and start paying them real money to better OUR COUNTRY instead of Iraq.

I can't help the feeling that unless we go after the businesses that hire these illegals, or make them part of the screening process, nothing will solve the immigration problem.

The laws for businesses to be fined and to require exhaustive checks of id and origin have been on the books since 1988. Companies just ignore the law and government aids and abets them. It has to be PRISON time, or it will never stop, either companies will pay off immigration officials or they will have gov. look the other way--that is what they did in 1988 and how we ended up with about 18 million more (and we were told in 1988 that it would be the LAST time and that measures would be put in place to ensure it never happened again) see how well that ***** worked?
