Texas Woman Leads Police On 25-Mile Chase; 9-Month-Old Thrown From SUV In Crash
- Yet another victim of over zealous police. I feel the police should be held accountable also. How many must die at the hands of cops and chases. I never heard it mentioned that they should have held back because of the infant. They always know what's best though, chases are always justified, no matter what. All of you that justify this one just wait until it is somebody in your family, then it will be different. Stop these crazy chases and speakout today, demand changes!!!!!!

- We live in an extremely materialistic society and that's why a car is worth more than all the drivers on the road who were put in danger by them cops when they chased the woman with her baby.
Ex-baby by now. Because the cruelty of cops knows no boundaries. 50 shots here, a Rodney King there, no biggy, eh?
In fact, that's how cops behave in the countries that have been mentioned here. They'll chase you and your family to death.
America should be a civilized place where women are taught to drive well and cops taught to put things in perspective: Was the car stolen, or was the woman driving like all woman do? No big deal. Let life flow and things will fall in place.
Did I steal 100 bucks or a million bucks? Let the cops go after the Halliburton people. But no, Bush won't allow that because he's the biggest thief and as such has inspired many Americans. If the mother of the child was indeed driving a stolen vehicle she probably was thinking, "If Halliburton and Bush can have a piece of the action, I want to have a piece of the action, too!" - Reply to this comment
- By driving out of control, this woman was endangering every single person around her - not only her baby, which she killed, but the police, the other drivers, any pedestrians, passengers, everyone! Driving a car recklessly is pretty much the same as firing a gun recklessly - she doesn't care who gets killed or hurt from her weapon, and she's got a very good chance of killing someone.
The police can't just sit back and wait for her to crash into someone - they have to try to stop her. They used the gentlest methods possible - a spike strip is the ideal way to get a car to slow down in a controlled fashion. They tried backing off (READ THE ARTICLE PEOPLE!). They did all they could. But she went on driving insanely, driving on rims, until she managed to roll her car. At least she didn't hit another innocent car or police officer, or she would have killed even more people. - Reply to this comment
- I say stop with the, "what if," game! It does not matter what techniques the police used or wether they were good or bad because she did not stop. Period, end of story! Thgdriver, obviously you and your friend the hippy are a match made in heaven. I propose that we gather enough money and move you and all of your ignorant friends, who believe that the police did something wrong, to a place where you will be happy. I think that this place should be tolerant of your clepto ways and your lack of respect for the law. A place where EVERYONE drives badly and the respect for human life is non existent. I know of a nice place on Haifa street that is vacant. You won't have to pay rent and you can steal whatever you desire. Just don't get caught stealing as the punishment can be stiff. Oh, by the way, Haifa street is in Iraq. Boy aren't the police doing a great job there. Or maybe you'd like to live in Somalia, that place is ripe with anarchy. Hey, how about Iran , they would just cut off one of your hands for stealing hippy. Hey, North Korea would be fun too. I'm sure the Korean police would be kinder and gentler! You see stupid, you and your friends who think it is so bad here really have NO clue! By the way which idiot blame our President for this sadness? I will now sit back and read your replies, if you have any new ideas because the others are quite frankly just plain dum (misspelled for effect). Just use spell check first, okay!

- I have got to comment on this. First, if you are going to have an opinion, get your facts straight. It is against the law to operate a motor vehicle at those speeds. I would also like to see the "Federal Law," that puts a limit on the speed the police can use to pursue a FELON. Yes, I said felon. For those of you who may not know, that woman was operating her vehicle in a manner that will be considered as the "Use of a deadly weapon." Second, check your spelling and grammar. Nothing annoys me more than to read an opinion written by someone who cannot write a correct sentence, for example; "Them police." Sir, it is the police or those police officers. Before you get angry and lash out, remember it is you thgdriver and the hippy who hate this place so much. By the way, what does "thgdriver," stand for? I find it amusing that is is very close to, "thug driver!" In the end it all boils down to law and order. She was NOT following the rules and someone called the police. When the (not them) police got to her, she avoided them and in doing so her child was killed.

- Are you people kidding me!?! The cops aren't the ones who killed the baby, the mother is. This ain't the Wild West. If a police car wants to pull you over, you are legally obligated to pull your car over to the right as far as possible to ensure the safety of yourself and others. If you are not comfortable with the situation, you can request another officer be present, but for this idiot to take off like that, with her baby in the vehicle, with a complete lack of concern for the baby or anyone else for that matter is reprehensible! she has no one to blame but herself!

- This story makes me sick! A 9 mo old baby was killed because the cops just had to stop this vehicle no matter what the consequences. What the heck were they thinking when they decided to keep chasing this woman at 110 mph? They were chasing her for reckless driving, that sure is a crock of ****! What do you call a police officer who is driving @ 110 mph? The cops are responsible for this infants death, and I hope the womans family makes them pay. And the woman should be punished for child endangerment, and involuntar manslaughter! No one wins in this situation, but I think it's also wrong for a cop to chase vehicles at a high rate of speed. What about the other vehicles on the road? They could of killed more than one inocent individua!Like someone had already said, what if this had been one of their family members! I think the outcome would of been a little different!

- I find cjnygaard's comment interesting... "This woman had the right to choose abortion or birth for her baby..." Is it better to murder a child before birth than at 9 months of age? Blame the mother for the child's death or the police for the child's death? This woman's irresponsible behavior began when she chose to have *** which resulted in the birth of this precious, innocent child, and ending in the violent and horrible death because of the mother's continuing irresponsible behavior. I did not see that the police knew there was an unrestrained infant in the car, but if they did, maybe they could have just followed the woman until she finally stopped. We don't know all the circumstances.

- The cops have got to be responsible for their actions.
To listen to some here if in a crowded mall, a man grabs some cash and runs, it's ok if the cop draws his gun and starts blasting away, to hel! with the innocent bystanders, the crook and the cash must be apprehended at all costs.
I don't see any difference if they drive their police cruisers down a high way full of other people at 110 MPH and possibly kill innocent bystanders. In this case they killed a little baby. - Reply to this comment
