Comments on: Christians Gather To Protest Iraq War
Prayer At National Cathedral And March On White House Kick Off Weekend Protest
- In the early 1990s Halliburton was found to be in violation of federal trade barriers in Iraq and Libya, having sold these countries dual-use oil drilling equipment and, through its former subsidiary, Halliburton Logging Services, sending six pulse neutron generators to Libya. After having pleaded guilty, the company was fined $1.2 million, with another $2.61 million in penalties
Halliburton offers services world-wide through its Tehran office. Such behavior, undertaken while Cheney was CEO of Halliburton, may have violated the Trading with the Enemy Act. - Reply to this comment
- rsoxfan,
I'm not defending anyone. I'm just not implicating the administration like you recklessly do. Saying that big business doesn't do wrong. That would be ignorant. I'm just saying Cheney and Bush had nothing to do with it. Contracts are bidded on, plain and simple. Halliburton has been working with the U.S. for decades. How they manage there own house is up to them. If they do something illegal, they should pay the price. All I'm saying is that there is no administration/Halliburton conspiracy. It's silly to think so. - Reply to this comment
- McVet, Condumism;
As a Southern "Fascist" as you claim I am, I would like to set a few things straight.
1st) Considering the choices given in the last election, the "Rethuglican" was the best choice based on information that was available at that time.
2nd) I am not bitter about being a "loser", considering that the northern army invaded a sovereign nation when they raped, burned, sacked...etc southern towns, people. Oh, the sovergn nation was CSA(Confederate States of America)
3rd) I have not noticed any blood on my hands. I would like to see the end of this war. I do feel that it is unnecessary. I will admit that I have no love lost for the Iraqi's, Iranians...etc Middle-Easterners. But, I have little love for most Northerners. Most that I have met are loud, obnoxious, have no concern for anybody but themselves.
4th) Since many companies have been moving out of the country, the economic upswing is in the south. We have some of the best shipping ports. We have steel/iron production. Petrol, Agricultural, and technilogical sources here that were not present in the south during the war of northern agression. I wonder how badly you would "LOSE" were it fought again. The north at that time did have (like today) overcrowding, over population, pollution...etc. Thusly, they had more sacrificial lambs for the slaughter. Oh BTW; The machinegun(Gatling Gun) was invented by a northern doctor, named Gatling. - Reply to this comment
- JAL477-halliburton oil was indicted for war profiteering charges during the Viet nam war. they are currently under investigation for doing business illegally with iran and their running off to dubai leaves them immune from many things, coincidentally enough. if you are defending their once again sniffing around the trough you are either a stockholder, a halliburton employee or stupid.

- rsfoxfan,
Great reply. You missed my point completely. By the way, can we throw out the political BS? Halliburton has assisted us with overseas conflicts during Bush 1, Clinton, and Bush II days. As a matter of fact, they assisted us in the first Persian Gulf war, so why wouldn't they assist us now. The truth is that Halliburton has been unfairly bastardized by politicians trying to make political points. But, once again, let's not talk about the future. Let's dwell on silly little conspiracy theories. - Reply to this comment

The website I gave you was
www.memri.org
It's a famous Anti-Islamic and Anti-Arab website, you can confirm that from any source you want to.
I oppose withdrawing troops from Iraq not only because it'll help Iranians in forming govt in Iraq but also embolden Alqaeda terrorists who have found safe heaven in Western Al-Anbar province.
If most of the Christians don't understand Palestinian invasion, then who are the people using Christianity as a tool to sacrifice American Money and American lives for the NON-AMERICAN EUROPEAN INVADERS IN PALESTINE.
I really don't care what you think about me or any body else think about me but just for your satisfaction,if you want to make sue we can both raise our voices against those Policies and laws which favor Islamic Radicalism like Denying Homosexuals right of marriage(Discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation),allowing men to run and jog on the street totally topless while arresting the women comiting same action on the name of INDECENT EXPOSURE(GENDER BASED DISCRIMINATION),opposing President Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewisnky when the study done in University of Illinois clearly explain the fact that "MEN ARE GENETICALLY PROGRAMMED TO CHEAT ON THEIR WIVES".
You'll find the worst ISLAMIC RADICALS in our COUNTRY those who call themselves CHRISTIANS.
I'll end my comment on the statement of MS ROSSIE O'DONNEL
"RADICAL CHRISTIANITY IS AS BAD AS RADICAL ISLAM". - Reply to this comment
- singinrick- he knows muslim religion and has written tons of stuff on it. you must not have read his posts in the past. he doesn't sound much like a muslim when he writes. he sounds like he hates the stuff. he hates all religion.

- JAL477-maybe the answer is that instead of spending in excess of $1 trillion to improve random nations that don't give a rat's *** about us anyway (not mentioning the stock of companies like halliburton) that money could've been spent on education, transportation, law enforcement, fire departments, etc. in THIS country. it's ironic that an administration that talks about "fiscal responsibility" sends $2 billion a week of our tax payer dollars to a desert hole like Iraq.

- People keep talking about Bushes wars. The facts are, regardless, that his efforts have led to the liberation of millions of Afghanis and the defeat of a brutal dictator. Sure, war is bad. I'm not one of these folks that support the President all the time. The truth is that mistakes were made, strategically. Assumptions were wrong and because of these mistakes we have been there longer than anticipated. However, Saddam did have to go. He wasn't harmless and I'm glad he is gone. Now, we keep going back in time to discuss mistakes, instead of looking forward at the possibility of success. Regardless of the stacatto of bad press, there has been signs of progress, both militarily and economically. Are we just going to give up now and go home? Please tell me there is a better answer than that.

- patriotic9-actually most christians don't even understand the issues you are talking about, much less support any palestinian invasion.
You sure you're not really a palestinian blogging on as an American? That web site address you gave me a couple of months ago with those videos of all of those americans being killed was recently identified as a site being used as a propaganda tool for anti-american groups. Just because you don't want iran to control Iraq doesn't mean you have the best interests of our country at heart. - Reply to this comment
- patriotic9-maybe instead of bashing people that are trying to do what is right about iraq and that feel the same way about it as you do.

First of all,let me make one thing straight.
I never used to be in the favor of Iraq invasion but also I am not in the favor of suddenly pulling troops out of Iraq after we have handed over a Secular country to Islamic Radicals.
If we pull out our troops after bringing Islamic Radicals into power and making the western part of the country into world's best Alqaeda training camp, what was the purpose of Iraq invasion?
To help Islamic Radicals in forming an Islamic Empire!
What makes me frustrated about Christians is their unprecedented support to the European invaders in Palestine which was the reason we were attacked on 9/11 and which is the main tool for Islamic Radicals to get recruits .
When the European invaders in Palestine had attacked Lebanon and killed innocent women and children and destroyed billions of Dollars of properties,Not only conservatives like Condi Rice had supported their actions but all the Christians whether they were Republicans or Democrats,Liberal or Conservatives had unprecedently supported the so called GOD-CHOSEN in their aggression. - Reply to this comment
- Bushes Wars are the type of deceit that Bush has been shielding from America for over four years in order to keep US Support behind Keeping our Soldiers in HARMS WAY - with Cheerleaders like Cheney saying on CNN - that we are making enormous progress in IRAQ - STATE of DENIAL!
How Tragically SAD! - Reply to this comment
- sasi1-and Bush had begun to identify christianity itself with corruption. At least this shows non-christians that you don't have to be a mindless zombie incapable of thinking clearly in order to be a christian.

- Wish I could have joined them in the march. It is time for Christians to step forward and declare themselves against this war. Bush has led us down a dark, dreary trail, and it will be difficult to get us back on track. I don't envy the next president for having to step in and try to remedy the mess he has made.

- nyckate-Bush and his cronies use religious rhetoric to manipulate the extreme right and generate their votes. He thinks that all he has to do is say what they want to hear and then he can later do whatever he wants and they will blindly support him, and he is right.

- lieber881-a "real" christian wouldn't lie to a nation and get thousands of innocent people killed to boost oil profits for his buddies. From what I have read of your posts, lieber, you appear about as far from having the holy spirit as anyone I have ever met. your venom and hatred you spew out with your name-calling and nastiness reveals your spirit. You are the last person I'd look to to declare whether these people that are sick and tired of this administration's lying and corruption are christian or not.
