Police Say Stephen Grant Confessed To Killing Wife Tara
- Its just too bad that even though this sicko admitted to killing his wife (and dismembering her body), we will still have to spend millions of tax payer dollars to prove he did it. Even in my narrow minded state, that doesn't seem right!!!

- With appeals and such this could be drawn out 10-15 years. I think by any civilized peoples means is a little too long for justice.

Considering that this guy can't get anything more harsh than life, what difference does it make to you if he sits in a cell for 15 years before his appeals are exhausted? - Reply to this comment
- The man has confessed, hopefully he will continue to stand by his confession and get the justice that he so deserves. Unfortunately, in Michigan he will not get the death penalty, but will most likely spend the rest of his life in prison. Then he will be guaranteed to be fed better then 1/3 of our society, recieve more recreation and leisure time then the majority of us are able to get because of work and other responsibilities, and recieve better health care then the majority of the rest of us recieve. Why? Because that is what we comfort ourselves with, believing that we are a civilized society. While at the same time, we allow our children to watch the gory blood and guts movies, play video games that desensitize them from the reality of death and maiming, and watch other stuff that sublty allows them to believe that it is OK to do these things to other human beings. Then we all sit back and deny that we are doing this to our children who are going to make up our future society. Yes, folks, I guess there is some hope for us (sic).....

- "He gave a very lengthy confession, laying out exactly what took place," Hackel said. The couple's young children were in the home at the time, he said.
He has already admitted his guilt...period. If he did not...then the part about innocent until proven guilty begins.
In no way as an excuse, but when these things happen, as modern progressives, we have to look at the total picture, one person is not to be blamed fully. If we can understand, then society must take full account to improve.

He is totally to blame...period. Society will improve when we get rid of him. I am not a progressive and I don't believe the mantra that it takes a village to raise a child...there are way too many village idiots out there. It is time that society holds people accountable for their actions. - Reply to this comment
- Hey CagetheRage1,
Everybody that has a differing opinion from you is not a moron. We would just like to see the justice system that is in place in our country move a little quicker than some of these cases normally do. With appeals and such this could be drawn out 10-15 years. I think by any civilized peoples means is a little too long for justice. - Reply to this comment
- There is no doubt that this guy deserves the worst possible punishment - if he is found guilty of this crime. Yes, folks the reality is that we still live in a civilized society with a legal system that says he has to be presumed to be innocent until he is proven guilty in a court of law. Now, before every narrow thinking moron in this discussion jumps on a band wagon that is intent on hanging me for even having the nerve to say what I just said, we need to remember that WE, as a society put that in place to protect ALL of us from being unjustly prosecuted in a society such as what was in place in Iraq before we invaded it and changed thier government to one that was more to OUR liking.

- I'm almost speechless. What part of a simple DIVORCE did this dude or Scott Peterson not understand?

It would appear that some would risk life in prison to avoid a crippling financial result from divorce. If so, this would be what? Murder driven by materialism?
This guy won't have to worry again about not being able to keep a sufficient enough portion of his income to be able to support himself.... - Reply to this comment
- The perfect punishment for this A--Hole is LIFE in solitary confinement without parole. There should be no human contast, television, radio, books, magazines or newspapers allowed. He should never bee allowed to see daylight again. When he is given his one hour exercise a day it should be after dark.

Mack, I agree...but...how about he get's some high heels and some make-up for the weekends with the Big Bad Boys...he should have something to think about during those lonely nights during the week. This guy is lower than whale _hit in the bottom of the ocean. - Reply to this comment
- It's really a shame that Michigan does'nt have the death penalty. I hope this guy spends the rest of his life ina physical, mental and emotional hell. My sympathies goes to the victims family.

- Drew,
My heart goes out to you and your family. I have been following your daughters story through your website every since I saw you post on another story months ago. What a way to honor your daughter by helping other teens in violent situations. - Reply to this comment
- As horrible as this crime obviously is , do we need to look at what factors, including societal
etc. etc. blah blah blah...............

Hey trueprogress,
Give me a freaking break. You liberal do gooders
with your psycho babble nonsense are really out there. Just stay out of the discussion. You either believe he is guilty and what punishment should be given out our he is not. Don't try to blame it on some kind of outside influence to make him do such a god forsaken act on the mother of his children. Go to another web site to spout your mind bending nonsense. - Reply to this comment
- Remember, the more horrific the crime, the greater the need for absolute DUE PROCESS. So that when the verdict and sentence are handed down, there is no reason for any appeal.

- As horrible as this crime obviously is , do we need to look at what factors, including societal, mass media ( films like SAWW?, and awards shows where WWII vs. JApan is glamorized all too realistically perhaps, as hero vs. hero ?) and even economic pressures - did this man have a loss of job or ego related injury ? In no way as an excuse, but when these things happen, as modern progressives, we have to look at the total picture, one person is not to be blamed fully. - I'm almost speechless. What part of a simple DIVORCE did this dude or Scott Peterson not understand? I fully agree with Drew Crecente's comments. Couldn't have said it better myself. Life in prison is far more fitting than a quick sleepy death by injection. Hope he rot's there...and NEVER gets a chance to see his two kids again. They don't need the anguish. He doesn't deserve that comfort.

- This man has successfully set himself up an insanity defence watch the fool get off with that, when he should be taken out and hung.
As far as the look on his face in the pic he looks like he is high enough to hunt ducks with a rake. - Reply to this comment

- See, I knew from the beginning he was guilty (I said so in a previous article) & my evidence was based on that crazy stare he's got- like that John Karr guy who had the freaky obsession with JonBenet Ramsey. He's got the Wanna-be-Manson Family look. Never trust anyone with saucer eyes. He's trying for the wide-eyed-innocent look. Instead he comes off as the too-much-meth look.
