Comments on: Army Ousts Head Of Walter Reed Hospital
General In Charge Is Relieved Of Command Due To Inadequate Treatment Of Soldiers
- Mr. Secretary Gates,
It is not commendable to make Weightman the fall guy for all the inadequacies that have existed in our military hospitals for decades. Walter Reed Hospital is actually a step higher than most of the Veterans Affairs medical centers which are all grossly under funded and under staffed. You do not have to look any further back than February 9, 2007 to find someone to be held accountable for these problems. Just read the press release from former house Vets Chair Steve Buyer, as he praises VA Secretary Jim Nicholson for a great VA budget and goes on to say; "this budget will allow them (veterans) to receive the care they need and lead full lives." Mr. Gates what you said yesterday is very commendable about the care and welfare of our veterans demands the highest standard of excellence and commitment that we can muster as a government. What we always needed as veterans is quality health care, respect from a knowledgeable health care provider, and the chance to resume a comfortable life as a productive member of the society for which we offered to give up our own life to serve and protect. The only solution to this problem is for at least four billion in EMERGENCY funding be immediately allocated to the Veterans Affairs medical centers. Will you help us Mr. Gates?

Hey, McCain is a RINO. He does not have the backing of conservatives (as his pathetic poll numbers show.) He's wasting his time and money. - Reply to this comment

- To badaxmofo - While I do not hate Bush on a personal basis, I do hate what he and his group
has done to the USA. He diverted resources from the fight with the Taliban/Al Queda that attacked us to a war we could have avoided. We now have spent over $700B in Iraq with no improvement there. All of the Arab world hates us now with Latin America not far behind. Bush is to go on a "farewell" tour of Latin America soon. He will be imposing himself on each country. At each stop, he will be greeted with protests and riots againist his visit but this will not stop him.
Our national debt now exceeds $10T with more to come. Senator McCain really meant it when he said the administration had wasted over 3148 lives in Iraq. The list goes on and on. Again, while I do not hate Bush personally, I hate what his administration has done. It will take decades to repair the dame if it can be done. - Reply to this comment
