- As a pediatrician, I see far too much stress placed on young people at such an early age. Kids are sent to school to learn, not to go to school to come home to learn. There are far too many kids on antidepressants. Also, there is an increasing need for a tutor, which puts further stress on the kid and family, both socially and economically. We tend to blame video games for a rise in obesity, but sitting inside doing 3-5 hours of homework is also a contributing factor. Let the kids be kids and come home and ride their bicycle.
