Wouldn't it be better if you were the 'drill' instructor instead?
You could teach her how to handle your 'drill'. LOL

mdc76082 good post! Manhart is the one who went too far not the Air Force. Furthermore if this "woman" was to keep her rank and was harrassed at work as a result of the pictoral she would also run crying to the press that she was sexually harrassed. I'm sorry but how stupid is she if she never saw this coming? You can't gain respect from people when you portray yourself in Playboy, especially when abusing a uniform that is about an institution and honor and not some fetish costume for sexual exploitation. Not to mention that she threw away her career which was her only bread and butter for her and her children. STUPID!

Alot of you are making way to many assumptions!!!
posing for playboy does not mean she will be in pornos soon they are 2 totally different things..
Playboy is one of the least revealing magazines their is in the genra.
I suppose every person that smokes weed will end up being a heroin addict living on the streets within a few years to. it just depends on the person.

Playboy photo shoots are professionally done and with great taste also. These are not the photo%u2019s you would see in magazines like %u201CJugs%u201D %u201CHot Heat%u201D Esquire%u201D Don%u2019t be so quick to judge, have you seen the photos? They are posed in a very professional manner. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026.

rf35, you also have to take into consideration that this was "visible" mainstream. This wasn't an internal incident, it was international due to the distribution of the magazine.

I'm sure the $$$ was good. I'm sure her next step after passing this stone will be porno movies or sexually explicit websites. She'll end-up a piece of porn trash somewhere with a pimp. Maybe another Anna Nicloe life of "famous for being famous" ???? Look at what happened to that family. Tragic!

ref35, I was in the Navy for 25 years. When ever someone was discharged the CO would reduce them in rank and then the Bureau of Naval Personnel would reduce them another rank. So, if you were an E-6 you left the service as an E-4, and rightfully so. Also, there is such a thing as, "Bringing Discredit Upon the Service" while doing things, i.e, politcal ralleys, posing nude in a magazine, etc., while wearing the uniform of the Armed Forces of America. She should be given an OTH discharge, reduced in rank by the Guard, if the AF did an inter-service xfer, which evidently happened since she is now in the guard. As for her saying they went too far. All I say is...shes needs to be telling herself "I" really went too far. I screwed my kids with this kind of behavior and have shown them what a pi_ss-poor role model I am for them and the Armed Forces.

bernie,
it might seem to you that you were merely trying to inform me. if you were just trying to inform me then i guess you have to learn how to use punctuations appropriately because when you use the exclamation point, to me it seems very emotionally inclined and almost yelling.

bernie,

why do you think that i was being self righteous? I wasn't standing up for anyone, I wasn't attacking anyone, and I didn't give the slightest indication that my opinion was right. It was a merely a hypothetical thought. why do you feel the urge to jump out in front and defend someone who wasn't even attacked?

Uhm, sorry for the repetitive posts. I hit "Publish" and it didn't do anything, the page didn't even refresh. So I hit it a few more times, then manually refreshed the page and saw it did go through the first time, and the other ones as well.

OK, so she shouldn%u2019t have posed in uniform. That%u2019s a violation of AFI 36-2903, among others. I still think it is *** that they demoted her and may kick her out. It seems a little extreme considering the things others have done that got a lot lighter punishment.

Oh no, singinrick is part of the AF Family? I think I need to switch services!

I am very open minded and liberal with many things. Now if she just posed for Play Boy then I wouldn't see how or why the Air Force would have a problem with it, its her choice and her private life, but........

""Manhart, a 30-year-old mother of two, said the military's action against her hinged on the fact that she was pictured wearing her uniform. ""

I see her posing in her uniform as very disrespectful to the Air Force, our country and her responsibilities as a soldier.

Whoa now!! I didn't mean to strike a nerve. I was just trying to inform you that you were incorrect in YOUR insinuations. Somebody has to stick up for the military every once is awhile. Too many self rightous people like yourself don't think highly enough about our military folks.

okay bernie,

it was just a thought, don't be so self righteous. even amongst the most elite minds drove 900 miles in a diaper for love. so get out of your perfect little world and come back to reality. like i said just a thought, nothing more, didn't mean to insinuate anything.

If you didn't already know, Playboy does a shoot every year of the best looking girls of every college conference, (SEC, ACC, etc...) MANY of the college girls are willing to pose nude and do pose nude. Not just 1 girl, MANY!! So I guess your theory of bad thoughts is going on nationwide, not just on the occasional military base or overseas.
