NASA Astronaut Faces Attempted Murder Charges In Plot Against Romantic Rival

That was all tongue in cheek to my co poster Kate.
Seriously, it's all speculation except for the Assault, that's a fact.
Shipman will probably press that charge, and maybe sue the pants off Lisa, errrrr, yeh pants, I think. - Reply to this comment
- This was very premeditated and very obsessive. She had a 12 hour drive or more to think about it. She was in disguise. She had weapons. She had taken pains to be untraceable. This was a the very least intent to do abduct her in a way that would do bodily harm. I have a feeling that before this is over we will have more info as to what her real motive was. Stay tuned...

- Oh come ON now thgdriver - most everybody has been in love and broken hearted at some point... and almost nobody did anything like THIS. I agree that all they can really prove is assault, because that's all she was actually able to accomplish once her mark made her & foiled the plan... but don't gimme this "poor woman" thing - any guy that did something like this & he'd have everyone calling for his head...

- ...yeah, that's a good point about the diapers - it was assumed to have been a way to cut down on commute time - but not having to stop may have had more to do with the risk of being seen. After all, the mallet appears to be newly purchased - the knife was fresh out of the package - she also brought rubber gloves among her other items she attempted to get rid of before capture... and of course, the cash & disguise - I mean, she's obviously not stupid in her "normal" life, but even if we can say she "snapped" - there was an awful lot of premeditation that went into this crime. Although I agree it's one thing to suspect, quite another to prove - but it's certainly d@mning evidence in the court of public opinion. Aside from what can be proven, by all accounts, it looks as though she intended on kidnapping her victim hoping the BB Gun would be convincing enough - the tubing certainly suggests a desire to tie her up - the mallet and/or pepper spray suggests a weapon to incapacitate - the knife & garbage bags suggest something more grisly... although the mallet, pepper spray and knife could also have been brought for her own self defense should things get physical or to further intimidate the victim... either way, it sounds like despite all her planning, her victim made her before she could move in & the whole plan pretty much caved in on itself...

Aha, you are able to see what the cops have too.
The cops "ain't' got "cra&" to go on but some guess work.
Well, maybe some cra&, but thats all. - Reply to this comment
- No matter what she had in the bag, no matter what she had planned, no crime other than assault was committed. Any other conviction than assault would be a miscarriage of justice.

OK, I'll go along with that, could be some bad air got in the shuttle from otta space, and upset the balance beam, so to speak. NASA should take a look see. Could be a good defense there. - Reply to this comment
- The whole affair seems so humorous because the lunatic and bizarre behavior of this astroNUT is so out of sink with the picture one would have in mind of an astronaut! LOL
And why would CBS think they can put the picture of the man (who had nothing to do with the insane incident) but not post the picture of the female victim who was directly part of the incident? - Reply to this comment
- thgdriver - LOL - poor girl?? She's an over-the-edge wacko sho tried to take out someone who was dating the guy SHE wanted - nevermind her own husband and kids -- for all her education she lost it and devalued human life for what is probably an obssession with a guy she didn't seem to have been dating herself. It doesn't sound like a love triangle gone nuts but a nut gone wacko.

- nyckate HI!!
I can't believe you have a rope around this poor broken hearted girls neck.
Assault and battery is all they got and you want her in prison for life.
Were you never in love or broken hearted? - Reply to this comment

Being arrested for Attempted Murder ..Priceless - Reply to this comment
- She had no intention of holding the woman - she had a steel mallet - she was going to kill the woman -- and it sounds like she was obsessed with a guy who she knew but was not involved in - she threw away her life, her marriage, her children cause she was an unbalanced immature fool.

- jn122736--- never lower yourself to someone like humancitizen's level, I find it best to ignore someone of such Neanderthal leanings and intelligence.

- Hey HumanCitizen,
It's kinda obvious you like reading your posts way, way, waaaaay too much. You're posting to no one and then answering your own posts. A little too into yourself? Yeah, I'm thinkin' so. Time for your medication dude, then a little nappy time. Ask for a room without any mirrors. Whoa... - Reply to this comment
- How truly bizarre! You gotta know she was going to do it. I mean, $600 in cash and wearing diapers? How long does it take to go to the bathroom when you stop for gas, unless you were trying not to be seen? Pay for gas in cash so there is no credit card to trace. I'm waiting to hear about a pay-as-you-go cell phone but she probably had no one to call. The hammer to knock her victim unconscious then drive her in her own car out of the parking lot with the victim stuffed behind the back seat. They found the astronaut's car at a nearby hotel, where she probably also paid in cash. She took a cab (cash) to the airport in disguise and waited in baggage claim. This is a VERY smart woman who thought she had thought of everything, but had not really thought the abduction part through very well. I'm telling you, she is sooooo guilty. This would have been really, really bad.

- oh jn122...you are an IDIOT!!! Did you hear the "scanty" list of supplies she had on hand???? She was going to murder that woman...

Let me pose another question to you:
If asking an obvious question makes me an idiot, what does stating an opinion as a FACT make you?
Opinions, hypotheses and speculation are not facts. We really are blessed to have our justice system, you know, innocent until proven guilty%u2026. I would imagine the witch trials as well as the tyranny of King George (not the present one) played a part in the adoption of this law. - Reply to this comment
- I don't know what it is about redheads.....they're all INSANE! I swear, everyone I've ever known (going back to Paula Smith in 3rd grade) are capable of anger on a Sean Penn scale! :)
