Comments on: States Buck Fed Plan For National ID
Citing Privacy Concerns, $11B Cost, A Dozen States Oppose Real ID Law; Congress May Repeal
- Didn't they try doing this when Reagan was president? Got shot down due to it's similarity to the mark of the beast mentioned in the bible. Hate to say it people, but no matter what, some time in the nearing future we will all be marked and controlled by our government, just as a farmer keeps track of his sheep. Your own children soon will not be your children but the property of the government they are born to. Mark my words, and there is nothing that can be done about it, it is the nature of people to try to control and manipulate other people into doing what they want. Government is a valuable tool in achieving this.

- How 'bout a computer chip just under the skin? Much more convenient for both us and our masters.

- I have a better idea.
Why don't we just tattoo our national ID numbers on our arms. Maybe we can tattoo a barcode too to make it really easy for our masters. - Reply to this comment

"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy."

"The means of defense against foreign danger historically have become the instruments of tyranny at home."

"I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations."

"As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged. And it is in such twilight that we all must be most aware of change in the air - however slight - lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness."
-- Justice William O. Douglas
"Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and
respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms.... The right of citizens to bear arms is just one guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against the tyranny which now appears remote in America but which historically has proven to be always possible."

- YEA! LIKE THESE NEW ID'S WILL PREVENT TERRORISM. THE LAW ABIDIND CITIZEN WITH HIS OR HER NEW ID, ( WHICH THEY HAD TO OBTAIN, BY PAYING A 100.00 PROCESSING FEE, TAX)WILL HAVE THEM STOLLEN, AND USED BY THE TERRORIST. JUST ANOTHER WAY THAT BUSH ADMINISTRATION, HOMELAND SECURITY, CAN KEEP TRACK OF LAW ABIDING PEOPLE. MAYBE,WE CAN HAVE A TROOP SURGE, HERE IN THE USA, AND SET UP ROAD BLOCKS EVERY MILE OR SO, AND CATCH ALL THOSE TERRORIST, IN OUR COUNTRY.

- Yea why be afraid of Terrorist? You have a greater chance getting killed going to the store than by a terrorist. How ever you have a better chance being arrested and jailed by our government than being killed going to the store!

- "Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.
This is easy.
All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifist for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country."
- Hermann Goering(Adolf Hitler's Reich-Marshall) at the Nuremberg Trials after WWII
