- I believe that our incursion into Iraq was a mistake from the start and the facts of our current situation there as well as what is yet to unfold will bear that out. I believe all Americans have the right to voice their opinions about the direction of our policies but I have to wonder about the wisdom of putting Jane Fonda on the podium. She can only serve to turn off the very people that antiwar protesters need to reach to bring about real change. As a preacher to the choir, I'm sure that she would do well but to those whose opinions are not yet in line with those in the protest movement, she can only serve as an additional obstacle they would have to overcome to agree with the movement as a whole.
