- It didn%u2019t say that the girls were being forced to give up there children for adoption. It says that they talk about it along with prenatal care, childbirth and I am sure that they also talk about parenting which they apparently didn%u2019t get from their parents. But at this point abortion is not an option apparently. I think that they hit a lady in the head with a frying pan, (it could have killed her) stole a car, credit cards, and other valuables. These girls are criminals and should go to jail for attempted murder as far as I see it. The second fact is that they are pregnant. Bummer the babies shouldn%u2019t have to be left out in the cold because of the stupidity of there mother. You might have made good choices in your child's life. But these girls are not, and babies shouldn%u2019t be raise in jail.

- I think it is ridiculous that parents still send their pregnant daughters to these homes. This is 2007 not the 1950's. Why cant the girls make decisions, it is their children? They fled the home for some kind of reason, why not ask them instead of jumping to assumptions when they find them. I am 20 and just had a daughter 6 mths. ago and im pretty sure i made the decision to keep my daughter and raise her on my own, and we're doin great, what makes a girl this young incapable? Women have been doing it forever why is now so different? My daughter has turned out great, I say let the girls make their own decisions they got themselves pregnant, they obviously want their children, leave them alone and respect and support their decision. You go Girls!!!!

- " It starts when young women don't feel able to communicate thier needs to thier families.. "
Hardy har har. It starts when obstinate drugged-out bimbos get knocked up by sleazeballs. Their needs are the same needs that Lindsey Lohan and Paris and Britney have - the need for massive cocaine and s*x and money they don't earn but burn. The need to stay out all night, having s*x with random men or women, taking any drug they can get their hands on, makig insane commitments to worthless brutal and abusive loser men, etc. And abusing their parents who are paying for it the whole time.
But let's have sympathy for those bimbos, they just don't get enough communication, sure. That's it. - Reply to this comment
- You didn't read the article very well if you think these girls are "from" Utah. They are from California, Texas and Illinos. None were from Utah. It is said that parents are not able to work with their children but sometimes parents take drastic steps when kids are teens to try and fix too many years of neglect or raising children that are brats, ones with little rules. But groups homes are not lock down facilities. Groups homes are places for kids to go to help them take the next step of getting out on their own. Sorry to say these girls will probably deliver their babies in Prison where they should. I wonder why they couldn't find a group home in there own state. My guess is because of their behavior in this one. I hope that the group home presses charges to the max and i hope that they go to jail for a long time to learn a lesson that their parents didn't teach them. I think that they are way to immature to raise a baby, adoption at this point should be mandated due to their selfish and inabilty to make appropriate choices.

- I don't blame the girls for taking off. What if they don't want to give up their babies? In this country, no matter how young the mother is, they can't force her to relinquish her baby. I'm sorry they're in a lot more trouble now.

- REVISED - Sorry, just realized I said California two times. Meant California, Texas and Illinois but fallngempire's comments are still stupid!!!
You might want to read the article a little better. It says that the families are from California, Texas and California. If you are going to make such stupid comments as above, make sure you have the right facts!!!

- Are we in Nazi Germany? As if it wasn't bad enough that the parents force the teenagers to carry the pregnancy, they send them to what is essentially a wilderness jail with no oversight. What did the parents expect of these girls? The lack of contraception is probably what led to these pregnancies in the first place. This is Utah, remember, where condoms aren't even allowed in at the border.

- I repeat, run girls run! Don't let these so called authorities take your children! No matter what happens to you and your children, it'll be better then if they are raised in the Nazi Mormon/Christian state. Let them grow up free from that hate, prejudice and narrow-mindedness.

- Uhmm. Does that article say anything about mormonism? Don't judge on anything you obviously don't have any idea about. And no. I'm not mormon. Surely you don't seriously think birth control is OUTLAWED in Utah do you? That's ignorance at its best.

It doesn't have too. It's datelined Utah, which is a Mormon controlled state. - Reply to this comment
