- Education is paramount. We can all agree that inexperienced handling of sharp knives and swords is dangerous, but with enough education in handling blades, the danger is minimized. You can never eliminate the danger completely, and you sure can't stop someone (educated or uneducated) from doing something stupid and ending up losing a limb or becoming a Darwin Award recipient. The goal should not be to prohibit everyone from engaging in the perceived dangerous activity; it should be to minimize the danger. Instead, we have legislated the government to start playing the role of loco parentis. In our earnest efforts to make our families and communities more secure from perceived threats, we are ending up with a paternalistic government that is convinced its purpose is to save us from ourselves.
Free speech is great; helping people to understand the flaws in their thinking is great; trying to explain the "big picture" to a wallet-sized mind is futile.
Government should have no interest in what I choose to put in my body (in the privacy of my own home)...be it THC in the lungs, a plunger in the ********, a Big Mac in the stomach, or a bullet in the brain...And, yes, I am a Libertarian. - Reply to this comment
- To marcpcbs_sux:
Marc, to remedy your mental defectiveness, you need to get EDUCATED...You get so fixated on the symptoms (social ills) you perceive and ascribe to pot, that you miss the point completely. Your ineptitude leads you to an incorrect diagnosis. Pot is not the problem you seek to solve.
You wanna keep kids from abusing drugs? Educate them. You can never stop the use, but you can curb harmful abuse through knowledge...not the reefer madness-esque "facts" you fear-monger with, but real, cold hard data. Now, the NIH and NIDA's hypothesis-based prejudice in selecting which MJ studies it will allow is a whole other matter, but the truth is out there. You just have to do some research. - Reply to this comment
- I do not know hich I had rather confront on the highway at 70 mph an alcoholic with a 5th of gin or a drug addict with two or three joints in in lungs, both are equally dangerous I wish the Narcoits officers would raid and burn the establishments and jail each and all owners and those purchassing the sh== the federal law shall be the law of the land. the best of good days frank bowers

- MJ responsible for JFK's death...lol, nice.
So, yes, I did just create this name, but after reading all the useless *** marcpcbs has posted on this article, I feel more than justified.
Why do you think your viewpoint is vastly outnumbered in these comments? Because we're all dealers looking to retain outstanding profit margins? No, the reason your viewpoint is so flawed as to actually be hindering the discussion is because you don't know what you're talking about. Also, it's hindered by the plethora of logical fallacies you toss together and call an argument.
I think the "pcbs" in "marcpcbs" may stand for Profers Complete Bull S**t... - Reply to this comment

- At what point are people going to start noticing that the government's war on Marijuana has been waged in the same manner as the government's war on Iraq?
Create hysteria over a benign threat and it gives you the power to wage an endless war for a profit. Destroy and imprison under the guise of protecting the people.
Now, as we witness them take medicine from the meek and the sick and lock away those most concerned with helping them; one must ask.
How shall we define this word evil? - Reply to this comment
