What about the Coast Guard? I know people in the Coast Guard who get all the military benefits, and claim military glory, so let's send them before we reinstate the draft!

PS Anybody know who has the power to reinstitute the draft? I can't tell from the discussions whether it's both Congress and the President . . . or is it like the President must call for it and then Congress must approve - something like that?

This is great news for Democrats - the more Republicans escalate, the better the chances for Hilary or Barack (whoever wins the nom) to take over the White House in 2008. Good work Republicans! Stay the course! lol ;)

[I've heard Charlie Rangel talk repeatedly about the draft and he seems to be proposing it perhaps as a tactic to in fact de-escalate the war (knowing that there is little support for the war in Iraq)]

I will indeed OGG. the next big organized protest is March 17th at major cities across the country. I'll be going to the one here in Los Angeles and it looks like it may be the biggest yet. In D.C. there'll be a march on the Pentagon and protests there.

People you need to do more then just pis*s and moan on a blog! Get involved! The protest organizers are at www.internationalanswer.org

Put your feet where your mouth is and tell this president he needs to go and this war needs to stop!

My father, voluntarily, put in his 21 so none of his children would have to go. I, voluntarily, put in my "shift" so my children wouldn't have to go. If they bring back the draft then our sacrifices will have been for naught...
