And RandalDS spoke and said, "Let there be fools!" and even as he spoke it was so.

See there are fools in the world (occupying churches all over) and there is every bit as much chance that they are here because I just commanded them to come into being, as there is that a god commanded the universe to be formed.

Praise be to the word of RandalDS!

Well as another wise (though probably "sinful") man once said, "There's a fool born every minute". To that I would add that it's a good thing for religion that there is, because they rely on them to fill the pews and keep the money flowing.

-A typical atheistic philosophy. Bashing God, calling Him a fairy tale, and putting your trust in the World, the very World that GOD Himself created.

Do you even hear yourself? putting trust in the world, putting trust into humans. you're actually questioning these ideas? it's humans and the rest of the world that helped out on 9/11, helped in the tsunami, in katrina and not because god told us to but our human emotions that tells us that we don't like see one another suffer. we do it because we understand the feelings of pain and our human conscious cannot allow us to sit back and watch others suffer so much. you putting your trust into god? if god told you to jump off a bridge, i think you would.

-Funny how yesterday you mentioned that Science is constantly searching for the "Truth" or was that the other atheist on here, passerby2???

Posted by singinrick at 05:03 PM : Dec 22, 2006

Again you're twisting words to try to make a point, a common conman trick. There is a world of difference between science's constant search for answers and an individual's personal journey for their own truth. I am quite happy with the results of my personal search and a strong supporter of science's continuing one.

Go ahead, try me. I guarantee you there is nothing you can ask me that I can't find an answer for you for. A legitimate, honest answer. Everytime I ask you guys a question about atheistic evolution however, you simply answer me by either bashing God and all believers in Him.

Posted by singinrick at 04:17 PM : Dec 22, 2006

the only answer you give is god did it. you can't come up with any response for all the contradictions that have been pointed out to you. you ignore every single one with a god did it. I can write about about how the world works, and how life is, bury it for 2000 years, say that i created earth? you don't have to see it or prove, believe and i will love you and get you a front seat to heaven.
what about the other religions having their own theory, what do you have to say about it? It doesn't fit your agenda?

As the Bible clearly states:

"A Fool says in his heart there is no God."

Posted by singinrick at 05:03 PM : Dec 22, 2006

Since the bible is a collection of fairy tales, a saying from it really means nothing to me. Besides since it sells itself as the word of a god, would you expect it to say anything else?

And read Carl Sagan. With an open mind he'll teach you things about how the universe really is that the bible will not. If you really want to learn, start there.

You still haven't answered my question. :) Where did the "space" come from in the first place silly in order for the universe to "evolve"??? Where did our emotions come from? I suppose these things just decided to "pop out of nowhere" for no apparent reason millions of years ago right??

Don't you think I took Science and Biology classes in my life?? I have. Good thing I know God. It's a very good thing I know the Creator and the sacrifice He made for us through His Son Jesus Christ.

If I were laughing at the "Truth" I would be laughing at God and the Bible, which is what you guys love to do. All jokes aside, it isn't funny at all that you guys don't believe in God, but again, it's your choice!

Posted by singinrick at 04:51 PM : Dec 22, 2006

A I said, why bother. You're mind is already closed and locked off to the possibilities that reality has to offer. It would be an even bigger waste of time then studying creationism any further. believe whatever fairy tales you choose to believe, but keep them out of science class where they don't belong.

If you actually think it's because of chemical balance or science I will roll on the floor in laughter.

Science can answer everyone of the questions you asked about emotions, how the universe began, why they know the earth is over 4 billion years old, etc., but why bother if you've already decided to laugh at the truth. If you honestly want to know then I would suggest the writing of the brilliant Carl Sagan and move outward from there.

This is a matter of faith. You guys don't believe in God, so you search for answers your whole life and never come to a logical conclusion. It's sad, but it's true.

Posted by singinrick at 04:00 PM : Dec 22, 2006

I've already found my answers and I'm quite content with them. There is no "search" left for me to do. I am happy with who I am and I don't need a fairy tale to lean on or to try to fill any part of my life.

-You said you hated Christians, and Christians love God, so what's the difference? Once you get over the hump that it's not about yourself, it's about God, then you may have a chance of understanding. God put you here.

Posted by singinrick at 03:52 PM : Dec 22, 2006

I'm not surprised that you can't see the difference. There is a huge one, but apparently you're blind to it.

Later in his life Hitler proclamed that he hated God, just like you do. Let me fill you in on something, if you "hate" God, you're not a Christian silly....

Posted by singinrick at 02:12 AM : Dec 22, 2006

And rick, stop twisting my words. I never said I hated god, I just don't believe in one. That's a huge difference that you can't seem to get through your skull. You don't have to hate something not to believe in it, you just have to be better educated then those that do.

Amen passerby2, amen. As I pointed out to rick the Romans believed the world was flat and rested on the back of a giant turtle. Perhaps that should be taught too, since their priests swore it was true too, just like his do today.

if a group of satanic worshippers were to come up with a theory about how the world started and wanted to teach it in school, then it should be taught as well. or how about muslims? buddhist? hindu? all these theories of ultimate designers, would you support them singinrick. or would you only support those that hoist you beliefs and spread them to others?

Actually rick neither of those things happened and as I said, I don't hate all Christians, just the ones who try to shove there beliefs down everyone else's throats, like supporters of the fable of creationism who try to get that bulls*hit taught in public schools.

The reason I'm an atheist is a very simple one. I educated myself. I learned science, physics, biology and astronomy (among others) to satisfy my own curiosity about life, the universe and what it all means. I even studied the bible with a completely open mind. One thing I discovered was that the more I learned, the less god made sense. God provides a nice crutch to the generally weak minded and is quite harmless to most people who believe in one and that's fine by me.

But far too many abuse the concept. They use it to judge and condemn and to foist their beliefs on everyone else and even go so far as to torture and murder those that disagree with them. Which is why I hate religious people of any kind who are dedicated to the mission of keeping children stupid by teaching them their fairy-tales. The are the enemy of learning and of our species moving forward. Only science has brought us forward, while religion has only dragged us down and back with it bigotry, hate and warfare. They have contributed nothing positive to human beings, but science has.

singinrick,

why can't you go a month without god? Are you afraid that you can't or that god will punish you severely? If god was all high and mighty like you said he would understand, you doing something for yourself trying to get understanding for yourself without the bible on your shoulders telling you what to do.

singinrick,

i don't know why you're defending god so vehemently, to you god is only an insurance policy. It's nothing more than a business transaction, where you put in the prayers and you hope there might be a chance you can go to heaven.
just like an insurance policy, you pay and you pay, just incase an accident happens. but one thing for sure when an accident happens you know for sure you will be covered, but god?

My guess with you is one of two things has happened in your life that you hate Christians:

1.) You've met someone who's called themself a Christiand they've done something terribly wrong to you...

or

2.) Something tragic happened to you in your life and you therefore do not believe that God exists.

I'm sure I may not be "Exactly" on the money...but I'm sure somewhere along the line something happened to you to make you "hate" Christians and not believe in God.

Posted by singinrick at 02:17 AM : Dec 22, 2006

historically speaking those who convert to a religion are usually the ones who have suffered a tragic event. they are no longer able to handle and comprehend what has happened to them, so they go and lean on god, which take them away into lala land where they don't have to think about life and reality. it's like a drug or alcohol, it gives them a way out of reality.,, but you'll have to consider the withdraw symptoms of the drug, it will take away your will power and not allow you to stand on your own two feet. That's why it's so hard for those who believe in god to leave him. they don't have any sense of who they are if they leave him, they don't know how to stand on their own, everything that was once them has been stripped away, down to a mindless addict.
